The Graphic Arts Show Company, producer of the annual GRAPH EXPO and global PRINT shows, was formed in 1982 by three leading industry associations: the National Association for Printing Leadership (NAPL); the Association for Suppliers of Printing, Publishing, and Converting Technologies (NPES); and Printing Industries of America. GRAPH EXPO, spanning the realm of print, online, and mobile, is the largest and most diverse exhibition and conference for the graphic-communications industry held in the Americas this year. Here, in the largest print market in the world—Chicago—attendees will come to see and explore the newest technologies and discover the future of print integrated media communications. At this year’s world-class GRAPH EXPO exhibition, we welcome more than 400 innovative suppliers and thousands of attendees from across the Americas— and beyond. Along with encountering live demonstrations of exciting breakthrough technologies and unique new applications across the show floor, attendees will also come to network with their peers among the record 48 co-located events being held in tandem with this year’s Show. ON THE COVER A GREEK RETELLING Based on ancient Greek myths, Mary Zimmerman’s Metamorphoses is brought to life for the second time by the Lookingglass Theatre (821 N. Michigan, 312.337.0665), running through Oct. 28. A celebration of the play’s triumphant 1998 debut, the anniversary production, directed by Lookingglass ensemble member Zimmerman, is a series of vignettes that retell the myths of Ovid and remind viewers that the tales are still relevant. Occupying most of the stage is a pool of water, a central element that runs through each scene and changes from a swimming pool to the River Styx to the ocean. The play, which went to Broadway in 2002 and for which Zimmerman won a Tony Award for best director, helped the Lookingglass find its way into the national consciousness. Tickets are $26–$66.
