TREASURE ISLAND Few things get Chicago theatergoers more excited than knowing that a favorite play or story is going to be adapted and produced by either the viscerally innovative Lookingglass Theatre company or the inventive and the brilliant Tony-winning director Mary Zimmerman. So when Zimmerman and Lookingglass team up on a project, you just know it’s bound to be a highlight of whatever season it happens to grace. That is certainly the case this fall, as the pair has come together to bring their shared brand of energetic and emotionally charged theater to the classic Robert Louis Stevenson novel Treasure Island. Expect high-flying acrobatics, epic adventure, intimate moments of reflection and plenty of derring-do on the high seas for thrillseekers of all ages in this not-to-bemissed production. Lookingglass Theatre, 821 N. Michigan. Schedule and tickets ($35-$45) available at 312.337.0665 or lookingglasstheatre.org 4
