The American Heart Association’s annual meeting offers a unique opportunity to gather with colleagues from around the world in an exciting educational and professional environment. The scope and quality of the scientific exchange make Scientific Sessions the premier cardiovascular research and instructional meeting in the world. Programming this year will continue to center on seven multidisciplinary cardiovascular cores: Cardiovascular Imaging Epidemiology and Prevention of CV Disease: Physiology, Pharmacology and Lifestyle Genetics, Genomics and Congenital CV Disorders Heart Rhythm Disorders and Resuscitation Science Myocardium: Function and Failure Vascular Disease: Catheter-based and Surgical Interventions Vascular Disease: Biology and Clinical Science

Each core continues to include the four broad areas of clinical, basic, population and translational science. Moreover, programs of special interest — the Clinical Tracks — will often span several of the cores. This year, our Clinical Tracks include: Interventional Cardiology Clinical Electrophysiology General Cardiology Clinical Imaging Diabetes Clinical Nursing Surgery Quality of Care

This year, our International Congress on CardioRenal Cross Talk and Syndromes will run concurrently with Scientific Sessions and will feature some terrific lectures from experts around the world. We will continue with a new format for some of the oral sessions, our Abstract Digital Dialogues, for which we have enhanced interaction between the presenter, moderators and audience. Scientific Sessions continues to evolve and improve with the input from our attendees making an already great meeting even more spectacular. We thank you for your input in the past and we hope you have the opportunity to experience the enhancements to our meeting. Most importantly, we hope the meeting addresses the greater mission of the American Heart Association, to reduce the burden of cardiovascular disease.
