This Week In Chicago
20 FRIDAY
ON THE COVER MERRY CHRISTMAS TO ALL! During the holidays Chicagoland is a winter wonderland. From the Mag Mile to Lake Shore Drive; from the Lincoln Park Zoo to the Morton Arboretum; the trees are all aglow. The Lincoln Park Zoo (2001 N. Clark, 312.742.2000) becomes a winter wonderland, illuminated by more than 2 million lights, at the annual ZooLights extravaganza. Visit the polar bears and penguins while enjoying warm drinks, cool crafts, ice carvings and visits with Santa. It’s a cultural holiday experience at the Museum of Science and Industry (5700 S. Lake Shore, 773.684.1414), as Christmas trees, beautifully decorated by volunteers from Chicago’s ethnic communities, represent various cultures and holiday traditions in Christmas Around the World and Holidays of Light. Illumination: Tree Lights at The Morton Arboretum (4100 Rt. 53, in suburban Lisle, 630.725.2066) is an interactive light experience that engages your senses with dazzling projections, trees that respond to touch and sound, and vivid, electric colors throughout.
