Welcome to Los Angeles, the “City of Angels.” Appropriately, the entertainment capital of the world is where AARP presents three days of celebrity speakers, informative sessions, an exclusive Movies for Grownups® film premiere and outstanding concerts. Rich in originality and appreciation for the arts, Los Angeles boasts an astounding collection of cultural institutions. More than five million visitors come to the area each year because of the quality of exhibitions, performances and unique cultural activities. For example, you could explore the Los Angeles County Museum of Art for days and not run out of things to see. Nearby are the La Brea Tar Pits and the Craft and Folk Art Museum. Downtown L.A., where Life@50+ takes place, is a vibrant hub for dining, sports and entertainment. NOKIA Theatre, where American Idol and other programs are filmed, and STAPLES Center will host several of our events. The Grammy Museum at L.A. Live takes visitors on interactive journeys into the history of rock, R&B, country and hip-hop music.
