Renaissance: A Digital Zine on Philippine Media and Communication showcases a particular marker of communication’s development during various time periods in history. Specifically this zine encompassed the Pre-colonial Philippines, Colonial Philippines, Martial Law Era, and the Present Time. Through feature articles, the creators aim to exhibit in their project the gradual progression of communication media to modernity across times, hence its title. Moreover, this zine aims to reflect and point out the vitality of communication media in the history and emergence of the Philippines as a nation, seeing as this notion is not commonly discussed among people. This makes it more important; for in the midst of all the threats the media face today, this zine is a great contribution for its empowerment and safeguarding. As always, the media should be liberating and free.
