is an inspiring movie about King T’Challa, played by Chadwick Boseman, becoming king after his father's death. Returning home to Wakanda, a hyper technologically advanced nation set in Africa, he is suddenly dethroned by a powerful new enemy. Drawn into a new conflict that puts the fate of both Wakanda and the entire world at risk, T’Challa must rally his allies and use the full power of the Black Panther to defeat his foes and secure safety for his people. Black Panther was made in 2018 and was amazing. While it is fictional, it is filled with African culture and made Wakanda feel like a real place. On top of that, the characters were very believable and I personally really connected with them. So much so, that when the villain loses, I remember being very sad in the theater. Even though this movie was a great action movie, it still had its funny moments. By using some memes that were relevant at the time in the right way, Black Panther was able to make some of its younger audience laugh as well as the older audience. The movie also tackled real world problems in a way that made them important to the plot and but didn't make the movie feel entirely political. The last thing that was great about the movie was its cinematography. Each shot was full of color, due to the African culture that surrounded it. And even without the people, just the landscape by itself was amazing. No matter the scene, the world around T’Challa was always just so beautiful.
Altogether I believe that anyone over the age of 12 can go see this film and love it. It was a huge hit, especially to people of color who felt very represented. I know that my whole family for the next week was saying ”Wakanda Forever!” to each other as a reminder of the movie, while doing the Black Panther salute.
