T

here is no doubt that modern technology and science are based on math. Could it be, however, that mathematics is also the answer to the ultimate question of life, the universe, and everything? Max Tegmark, a professor at Massachusetts Institute of Technology, suggests the possibility that math does not just describe the universe, but makes the universe. In his book, Our Mathematical Universe, Tegmark argues that our universe is described by math and, in fact, it is math. Human beings and everything else are all parts of a giant mathematical object that belongs to a multiverse. If we believe in an external reality independent of humans, then it is very likely that our physical reality is a mathematical structure. This Mathematical Universe Hypothesis makes a lot of sense. The world is interconnected. However, there is much more to mathematics: It makes it possible for us to understand patterns, to establish relationships, and even to foresee the future. M

ath can make you really smart, if you just try! You will learn subtraction and addition in second grade. Later on, you learn multiplication and division in third grade. In high school, you do really hard math problems involving calculus! You have to get used to math. Math is important not only at school, but in real life, too. If you’re a cashier, you add up money. If you’re a builder, you measure wood or steel to build a home. If you are a designer, you measure cloth for clothes. Pretend you are applying for your first job. If you’re a baker, you need to measure ingredients to bake bread. You also have to add up money for the bakers’ creations so they know what the price is. You need math to make change, if the customer pays too much money. Math is everywhere we look. The better we get at math the better life we can have. Khan Academy is a math practicing platform that I love it. It can help children get better at math. Give it a try - you might like it! 4

Your student is invited to attend our after school program that will give him or her an opportunity to become a published writer or artist. ave you ever seen a robot? Now, you get to meet one in person! Sophia - the first human-like robot ever - was activated on February 14th, 2018. The Android Sophia was modeled after actress Audrey Hepburn. Sophia is known for human-like appearance and even human behavior, compared to previous robotic variants. In her eyes, there are cameras. Combined with computer algorithm, this allows her to see things clear with color. Sophia is able to process speech and have real conversations using a natural language subsystem. In January 2018, Sophia received the ability to walk. According to manufacturer David Hanson, “Sophia uses artificial intelligence.” Artificial intelligence means machine intelligence. It allows her to interpret and express human emotions

and do many other things. Sophia is the first robot of its kind, but she is only the first step. Soon, we will

have even more sophisticated robots. One day you might even have one in your own home or build one yourself!

pps are something that almost every person uses today. An app - or an application - is typically a small program that can be downloaded onto mobile devices. Different apps are used for different reasons. Some apps help people find places; some offer entertainment; some monitor sleep and exercise. One app that I know is called Read Theory. You have to read a little book. Then you can accomplish a round. Another app I know is called Roblox. It is a game I play a lot. It's really fun! You can do obbys and games that you just want to play, or you can do tycoons. It’s crazy cool! I hope you can play this

game one day. To get to apps, people go on an iPad or an iPhone or a computer. Then they have to click on an app; then they logon with a password. I know some passwords, but they are secret. Passwords need to be secret, or someone can hack into the account. A password is like a lock to a secret notebook. One can make the password anything one wants. Passwords are easy; you just have to find the right one. You can make up your own password. It would be cool, but you have to keep track of what your password is for each app you use. Just remember that you need a smartphone, tablet, or computer to get on the app; then login with your unique password. Then all you have to do is have fun! 5

Why Technology is Important

echnology is important because it makes people’s lives easier and more enjoyable in many ways. Technology provides us with fun, creates transportation, and even helps us

grow our brains. Technology can be a lot of fun. I enjoy playing video games because they are fun to use with my family or my friends. They are fun because they are a way to entertain yourself when you’re bored. Another way games are helpful is because they can make you excited.

When you are sad, you can play games to cheer yourself up. Next, technology is necessary for human beings to move fast and far. In other words, transportation relies heavily on technology. Without technology, there would be no cars. This would mean that you would have to walk, when you need to get to various places. If you walk, it would take you a lot of time just to get somewhere. You will have to leave much earlier than usual to get to school, and if you are running late, you would have no way to catch up. This would get you in trouble with your teacher. Last, your brain could grow faster while using technology. One example is a calculator. Without a calculator, it is harder to do math. If you don’t know 12 times 12, you can just use a calculator and learn. A calculator is useful, and it helps you learn faster. There are many reasons why technology is important in our lives. In one way or the other, technology is important to everyone.

here are many ways in which technology can be useful to us. It helps save trees, reduce stress, and grow businesses. First, technology helps us, human beings, keep our planet healthy by not wasting trees. Technology saves us a lot of paper that we used to need for book reports and books. Trees are important because we need trees to breathe, or we will die. Also, we

need trees for furniture to live comfortably. If there’s no wood, we won’t see the beautiful nature in forests. Next, technology helps us reduce stress because it is a form of entertainment. You can play games like Fortnite, Minecraft, and Roblox with friends online. In these games, you can work together to defeat the enemies. I play Fortnite with my friend, and it’s fun when I beat other players with him. Lastly, technology helps businesses make money. When people

buy games, accessories, and game passeses, companies make money and hire more people to work for them. Live streamers, like Ninja and Tfue, can make money by people supporting them, donating, and buying their merchandize. This is the exact same thing for YouTube, because YouTube and Twitch both stream video games. In conclusion, technology helps make people’s lives better by improving our environment, reducing stress, and growing our economy.

ook around! Do you see it? Technology is all around you! Most of it is very good and helpful to us. But be careful, because technology can also be dangerous. Technology is in our everyday lives. In fact, you may be listening to music or the T.V. as you read this. There are many ways of using technology! Most schools across the United States use technology to make learning better for students. Schools use various apps, computers, iPads, tablets, and iPods. This is very useful. On the other hand, technology makes it possible for bad people do bad things. Sometimes, when you’re on the computer, chat groups

Math and technology are everywhere. At the grocery store, you will find cash machines that calculate the money you owe to the store. At the front of the plane, there are lots of buttons and switches, which help the pilot drive the plane by making calculations. Technology drives our progress. If we didn't have technology, we wouldn’t have known about different countries and astronauts couldn’t have gotten to the moon. Thanks to technology, we can communicate with different places and learn about them. Without technology, we wouldn’t have had phones. Phones have lots of apps to help us with everyday life, such as clocks, alarms, maps, games, cameras, calculators, and lots more. Technology also helps kids learn math quicker. When kids play math games on an iPad or a computer, they have fun and learn new concepts. Many studies show that math games on electronic devices have improved kids’ math grades. There are many fun games that will help learn addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, time, money, and much more. Technology and math are very important. They help make our lives better.

ats are independent and very interesting animals. It's really cool to discover the science of cats. I hope you want to learn about them. Cats come in different colors, species, patterns, sizes, eye color, and tail sizes. In the dark, cats’ pupils are big , but in the light, they are small. Cats’ eyes glow in the dark. Yellow eyes glow green; green eyes glow yellow. There are wild cats and pet cats. It's dangerous to keep a wild cat at home for a pet. Wild cats need to be trained to become a pet cat. Most cats are afraid of water. The ones that aren't afraid, eat different food than the ones that are. If they aren't afraid of water, they eat light food, but if they are afraid, they eat regular food. The reason cats are so afraid of water is because they don't know how to swim. When cats’ tails sway side- toside, it means they are mad. Also, if they are mad, their tails will stick up straight in the air. If cats' eye are big in the light, it means they are mad. Baby cats are called kittens. Kittens are super cute and cuddly. Cats can have 1-8 babies at a time. Kittens drink milk from their moms’ belly. Kittens' eyes are closed for the first three weeks. After that, they open their eyes. Kittens with closed eyes have to roll. When they open their eyes, cats can walk. A cat can live for 15 - 18 years. There is much more to learn about these amazing animals!

cience is a large topic that covers a lot about our world and how it works. If you don’t know much about it, there is a lot to learn, and you might start liking it in a while. You can learn about the solar system, planets, magnets, technology, energy, matter, life, weather, gravity and more! Let’s get started! First, there is technology. Technology is needed to create such things as phones, iPads, tablets, TVs, and more. Technology is used in a lot of things. Tablets are technology. People use tablets to chat with friends and play games. Tablets are different; they have different backgrounds, different colors, different sizes. Some tablets have different cameras on them. I use an iPad to play games and have fun.

Sometimes, people accidently break tablets. They might drop them. My dad once dropped my iPad on the cement. I didn't see see it happen, but when he gave it back to me, it was cracked. “Dad, why did you crack my iPad”? I asked. My dad said nothing. One month later, I saw my dad getting the stuff ready for fixing it. I was excited that my dad was going to fix it. There is technology that makes it possible to fix tablets and phones. Science is also about the life around us. Take our solar system, for example. There are many different planets in it - eight in total. The four planets closest to the sun are called inner planets. The other four planets are called outer planets. These planets are Earth, Venus, Mars, Jupiter, Saturn, Neptune, Uranus, and Mercury. Science is really big. There is something in it that will be of an interest to everyone!

R

ockets are amazing to me. I love them. One time, I even got to see in person as one launched. Rockets look a lot different than planes. Instead of having a vapor trail, they have a smoke trail and a flame. The way rockets are built is very interesting. First, all rockets have a combustion chamber. That means there is a chamber inside the rocket that creates thrust, which makes the rocket move fast enough to break through the Earth's atmosphere. Rockets also have a payload. The payload in a rocket is where the people or satellites are kept before being sent into orbit. The Saturn X is the most powerful rocket ever. There were two models made, but only one was needed: the first model blasted off perfectly with no problem! The other model of the Saturn X is now in the John F. Kennedy Museum in Cape Canaveral. I think that all people should know about rockets, because rockets changed our way of life. Without rockets, we wouldn’t have put our flag on the moon. We wouldn’t have taken photos of the Earth and the moon. So what will rockets be like in the future? Every day brings this future closer to us.

Hoonigan By: Nicholas Fenwick, 12th grkade, Clarkston High School

There is a group of people that run a company named Hoonigan. They post a lot of entertaining videos on YouTube. The videos feature fast and very custom built cars. In the “Build Breakdown” series on YouTube they get people to do ferocious burnouts. If the car featured is a drift car

then the car will show how it can drift. The videos are filmed in Long Beach, California at a location they named the donut garage. Sometimes random people that are fans pull up to the donut garage. It is pretty easy to find because the logo on the building says Hoonigan. Even though these random fans aren’t invited sometimes they are allowed to come in and drift. These dudes even sometimes make it

on YouTube. Hert is known for breaking cars by doing burnouts. Some cars they have are hot rods and some are race cars. When you come to the donut garage you have to drift. Even if your car isn’t made for it, they will make you because they destroy cars. When they do this mayhem it gets a lot of views on YoTtube. This is why everyone loves Hoonigan. For their massive burnouts.

Just a Curse By: Olivia Spitznas, 5th grade, Springfield Plains Elementary, Clarkston

I

’m Aimee. I am just like every other kid. I like ice cream, playing outside, and doing normal kid stuff. I’m in 7th grade, like all my friends, but I don’t learn 7th grade stuff. See, I’m really smart, and I’m too advanced for most of my classes. My uncle Harvey is a college professor. He teaches physics, so I go with him during my first and second hours of the day. I can tell people get annoyed with me being smart. One day people started to realize that my intelligence wasn’t just from what I’ve learned and how good I understood things. It's because I’m a genius. RINGGG!!! Finally, Advanced ELA was over; I practically ran to get to Accelerated Science. I ran all that way to find out WE HAVE A POP QUIZ! Ugh. I got my test and wrote my name at the top. “Okay, what is the main difference between an animal cell and a plant cell?” I asked myself. Not soon after I was zooming through it. “Oh my gosh, I’m done!” I double checked it, brought it up to my teacher, Mrs. Lake, and set it on her desk. She picked it up, looked me up and down, and asked, “Did you double check this?” “Yes…” I replied. Mrs. Lake gave me a nod, “I believe it, you’re a smart cookie!” “Thanks.” I said awkwardly. She rummaged through her desk and pulled out a dusty file. She blew the dust off intensely, making us both cough.

“Sorry, honey, I wanted a dramatic effect,” she said handing me a tissue. She opened the file and gave me “The Test”. “Um ok...” I said and took it back to my desk. I began filling it out. Even though it said it was a test, it wasn’t like most tests. It was asking questions about me, not science. Questions that my teacher should already know. I brought

it back up to her. “What is this for?” I asked. She replied with “ Um… It’s just something for you to work on after you finished your first test.” “Ok…..” I said suspiciously. I took it back to my desk and started thinking. “Umm... why is it asking me these questions?” The first question was “How did

F IFCETAT I OUNR E you get into Accelerated Science?”, then the next question was “ What is your IQ?” I brought it up to Mrs. Lake again. “Why do you want to know what you already know?” I asked. “Umm… I… Will.. one moment.” She walked over to the phone on the wall and dialed a 4 digit number, then waited. While speaking, she would whisper and look over at me. I walked a little closer trying to be subtle, but she noticed. “She’s starting to notice,” Mrs. Lake said in a rushed quiet voice, then hung up very fast. She turned around and looked at me again like she was looking straight into my soul, “Honey, just do the test!” Her voice was rising and becoming more strict. “I don’t know what’s going on, but I’m not taking that test!” I whisperyelled and started toward the door. “AIMEE!” she yelled, instantly putting her hands over her mouth and looking toward the rest of the class, who was staring back at her. I gasped and pushed through the door. I walked a little faster, when anyone asked me what was wrong. I had one goal - to get out of there. RING RING. “Please pick up, mom, please!!” I thought as I called home from the office phone. “Hello?” I heard the familiar voice. “Hi, mom. My stomach hurts. Can I come home?” “Does it hurt that badly, honey?” In my peripheral vision, I saw Mrs. Lake walking toward the office. “Mom! Please, it hurts really bad!” I said faster. “Okay, honey. I’ll be there as soon as I can. Are you sure you can’t make it through the rest of the day?” “YES, MOM! Please hurry up!” I looked out the passenger window as the school began to get smaller on our drive home. I had the deep feeling of guilt. “Mom, my stomach doesn’t actually hurt…” “WHAT????” Mom looked at me with her eyes wide open “My teacher was being really weird, like she was... I don't know. She made me take this weird test, and when I asked her why I was taking it, she didn’t NOVEMBER 2018

answer. Instead, she called someone and said, “She’s starting to notice” about me! What does that mean, mom? I’m scared!” “That’s really weird, honey. I don’t actually know what to say…” When we got home, my mom made a couple of phone calls to the school, and I’m pretty sure, the police! I stayed in my room and did homework from the classes I did go to before I left. “BANG!” I whipped my chair around and saw my curtain rod on the floor. I walked over to it and picked it up, my heart still racing.That’s when I saw a shadow from the corner of my eye. I turned so abruptly that I almost fell over. There was something there; it wasn’t my imagination. I tried to scream as I felt cold hands cover my mouth. They placed a bag over my head, and my last glimpse of light disappeared. Big hands picked me up. I heard a car door open and a motor start. I was put into the car, and we drove somewhere. I woke up in a white room with bright lights. “Where am I?” I wondered as I got up and looked around. I saw a big mirror. Suddenly, a voice came out of nowhere: “FILL OUT THE PAPER ON THE TABLE BEHIND YOU.” “What tab-” I started, but saw a white table come out of the floor. “Never mind.” There was one question in the middle of the page: “How much knowledge would you say you have?” “ What does that even mean?!” I said out loud. I thought for a second, but the voice came again. “ANSWER IT.” I wrote a big number I couldn’t name with a lot of zeros. “Here, it’s done.” I held it out into the direction of the voice. A door opened in a random spot on the wall. A tall man in a suit walked up to me and took the paper. He turned around to examine it. It was the perfect time to escape. I snuck around him through the opening in the wall and took off. I ran as fast as I could down many corridors toward the light. Just when I

thought I was out, a big arm came out of a room and swooped me in. “Let me go!!” I yelled as loudly as I could. “Shh!” I heard a voice above me, while I was being transported into a dark room. A person was wearing a mask, which he abruptly pulled down. “I’m helping you!” “DAD??!!!” “Yes, it’s me. I’ll explain on the way out.” We walked through some tunnels; my dad was talking fast. “I haven't been coming home because of work, like I said, but I didn’t tell you why. This company I work for... They said they could make people smarter. I wanted to help. What I didn’t realize was that they had to get the knowledge from somewhere. When they said they found a smart girl they could get the knowledge from, I knew they were talking about you. I knew it was a bad idea, but I couldn’t let them find out that I knew what they were doing, because I knew what they were capable of. I’m sorry. I should’ve stopped it the instant I found out. When I heard they put a spy in your school, Mrs. Lake, I knew it was definitely you whom they wanted.” “WHAT!!!!??? Why didn’t you quit or come home and tell me??” “I’m really sorry! I wanted to tell you, but I would’ve gotten in BIG trouble! I can’t quit because they would have to erase my memory. I knew what they were up to.” “It’s okay, dad. Thank you so much for saving me!” Before I knew it, we were at the end of the tunnel. “Be careful, they will still be looking for you.” “Can you stop them?” “I’ll try! Now, run home as fast as you can and tell your mom I miss her, and I’ll try to come home tonight, and I’m sorry, and-” “Okay, dad. I love you!” “I love you, too. Be safe!” I did what he said, and I ran home as fast as I could. After that day, my life changed. I couldn’t take my knowledge for granted anymore. I couldn’t look at it as a blessing. Just a curse.

Math Genius

I

t all started on my first day of sixth grade. We were taking this huge test. “You may start,” the math teacher said. I shot at the first problem: ( ¼ + ¼)-(⅝⅖)= N. Then another and another. When I finished, I noticed that all of the other students were still working. Puzzled, I looked at the clock - I had done this test in 15 minutes! I walked to the front of the room and put my paper in the tray. “You're done already?” the teacher said out loud. I froze. “Yes...” I studered. “Have you already double checked that you did everything how you want it?”

“Yes,” I said again. The teacher nodded like I needed her approval. As I walked back, I kept my head down trying to avoid looking at anyone. I knew people were staring at me. The next day we got our tests back. I got the perfect score. “Eva!” the math teacher called my name. I stood up, pushed in my chair, and slowly walked to the desk at the front of the classroom. I felt rather uncomfortable about the whole thing like I had to apologize for doing so well. “Did you cheat?” he asked in a firm voice. “No, what makes you say that?” I asked as polite as I could. “You got 100% on this test, and no one has ever done this before,” my teacher said. “Go to your seat.” People were staring and cupping their

mouths, whispering about me. A day after, the school announcements went on: EVA, COME TO THE MAIN OFFICE! This was getting really annoying. When I got to the Main Office, I saw our principal with a tall and skinny man I had never seen before. He had brown hair and a gray beard. His glasses had lenses shaped like squares. “Eva, Mr. Glean is here to see you. You’re going to go with him right now. He needs to talk to you,” the principal explained and nodded at the tall man. Mr. Glean smiled and walked toward a room that I didn’t know. I hesitated, but followed. The only two things that were in that room were a table and two chairs. Mr. Glean pointed to the table and one chair and motioned me to sit. He slid a piece of paper, which looked like a test, on the table.

FICTION “You must take this test now,” Mr. Glean said. I took a quick look at the problems and started. The first problem was similar to the test I took two days prior. I felt nervous. Were they seeing if I cheated or not? Was I in trouble? Mr. Glean stayed in the corner of the room. It was a tight space, which made me even more uncomfortable. When I finished the last problem, I wanted to get out. I slammed my pencil on the table, which startled Mr. Glean. He pushed himself of the wall and walked toward me to get the paper. “Thank you, you are all set,” he said. I could finally get out of this place. It was finally the weekend. “Honey, the school called; they want you to come,” my mom called from the kitchen. “ Noooo,” I moaned. “What do they want now? Another test?” I wasn’t too far off. When I got to the school, my principal was there with Mr. Glean. Mr. Glean had a sheet of paper in his hands. “Eva, I am the organizer of a state competition for math geniuses, like you. We would like you to be one of our participants.” I was shocked. “Two things. One what competition? Two - why do you think I’m a genius?” I was getting really antsy about this whole thing. “ Here’s a paper that explains all about it and how you can register.” *** There were so many people! “Good afternoon, everyone!” the announcer sounded cheerful through the microphone. The crowd went silent; all eyes were on the announcer. “The first contestants are Eva and Riley. Welcome!” I stepped on the stage, my knees shaking. The other contestant was tall; I was against a boy! The paper had already been prepared for us on the table, along with privacy folders, to make sure we didn’t cheat. I took a seat at the table and began. The first problem was (-⅚)+(-4/12)=+14/12=1 2/12. I went through it fast. When I was on the last problem, however, I looked at the clock and saw that I had only 5 minutes left. I started to panic, fidgeting with my pencil. “Pull it together, Eva! NOVEMBER 2018

C

omputers always have been important in my life. I can't imagine my life without computers. Why would I? Modern technology is how we live, and my life revolves around technology at this point. My computer never works well though. I always wondered why it was so glitchy; it didn’t work half of the time. “Mom!” I screamed. “What?” she screamed back. “My computer’s being glitchy again, and it wont turn on!” “Well, some people’s computers didn't even fit in their rooms. They had to have a room just for the computer. Have you ever thought about that?” Right then I realized that I had never really thought about what my computer did for me; I'd just gotten so used to it. My mom walked up the stairs and sat in my room. “Hey, why don't you try something to make it work?” I begged. 20

“Like what?” she asked. “ I’ve gotten so used to using technology that I wouldn't be able to do anything without it,” I told her, while getting up to go wash my face. A few minutes later I had a washcloth, and my face was covered in tears. “Why don't you try figuring out how computers evolved without using a computer. Maybe that'll help you, Mia,” my mom suggested. She could’ve been right, but I didn't want her to be right. I didn't want to have to go through with it and do research without my computer. How would I manage that? “Fine,” I finally made up my mind. I knew I had to do it no matter how it affected me. “What do I have to do first?” “I have the perfect idea that might take a while, but you can still do it. It's the old fashioned way, also known as going to a library,” my mom said, while brushing through my hair. “WHAT? This is crazy!!” I screamed. “I'm not going to take the time to read books; not like I would want to anyway. It’s boring and takes forever.” “Then use your glitchy computer. I'm not buying you a new computer anytime

soon, and definitely won’t, if you’re not going to do anything for it,” my mom announced as she started to walk out of my room. “Fine,” I moaned. “What do I have to do first?” “Go to the library!” I heard my mom’s voice from downstairs. I started running down the steps after her as fast as I could. She was at the kitchen before I could catch up with her. She threw a library card at me. “Run down the street and to the library. They’ll accept this card.” I caught the card and went out the door. I had no choice but to head to the library. I sped up, once I was about a yard away from my house. Before I knew it, I was inside of the library. I began looking around, but nothing was there; nothing at all about computers. In an hour, I checked the whole thing. NOTHING! I found nothing! What a disappointment! I started toward the door. “Good bye, have a nice day!” the librarian said. As I looked up at her, I felt someone was staring at me. I ran home, looking back every now

FICTION and then, scared. Then, I saw it - the thing that was watching me. “Hello,” a robot started. I ran even faster, just in case it was behind me. Then, all of the sudden, the robot grabbed my arm, like it was trying to get my attention. “Take this now,” the robot said, handing me a book. I took the book and read the cover, CODING THE WEB. “What?” I thought to myself; then I read the heading on the first page: DON'T USE TECHNOLOGY UNTIL YOU READ THIS. I ran home, grasping the book, not looking back, and turned the handle on the door. I ran upstairs into my room, forgetting to close the door. That night I read the whole book; it was one of the worst, yet greatest decision in my life. I took out my computer and started typing numbers. I don't know why it felt like the book took over.

A note came up on my screen: The book won't help; its knowledge will make you learn. I was even more confused now. I thought a drink of water would help, so I tried to get up. I couldn't stand. I was being forced to sit and type. I couldn't control myself; it was as if the book controlled me. “MOM!” I screamed. No answer. “She must’ve left.” I thought to myself. I stared at the screen blankly. I was still typing, and then all of a sudden, I stopped. Nothing happened. “AAAAAH!” I screamed. A bright light flashed on the screen; then a mask appeared. Suddenly, my breathing slowed and my eyes shut. All I saw was darkness; the only thing I could think of was darkness. My eyes opened. I realized I was laying in bed. “Are you okay, Mia?” my mom said

standing in the doorway of my room. “Yeah, yeah I-I’m fine,” I managed. I was still confused of what happened last night. “Had a bad dream? It’d better not have been so bad that we have to go buy you a new computer.” “No, I don't want a new computer!” I assured her. I was happy that it was just dream, but this dream made me understand something. I realized how much better the world would be without computers. If all computers were removed from homes, people would communicate better and spend time with their family. My whole life would be changed if computers were gone. Our families would talk instead of texting; friends would see each other instead of calling; our lives would be better and more peaceful. And I would never again have to worry whether my computer will start.

T

his is Super Technology; he steals technology. This is because he wants it all to himself. Super Technology never wants to buy any, and he never shares any. In his life, he has stolen 100 things of technology. He steals every kind of technology. He steals TVs, tablets, iPods, iPhones - everything you can think of! But, he doesn’t work alone. Mrs. Technology...Sneaking up on people. Mr. Technology...Radio report. Aunt Technology and Uncle Technology... Stealing the technology. They have a helicopter, too. Super Technology uses radios to communicate with everyone to help steel technology. He practices, so he knows what to do and to make sure he’s prepared. He practices skydiving from his

helicopter; he practices running from the cops; he practices talking on the radio; he practices flying his helicopter. One night, Super Technology was out in the helicopter with Mrs. Technology, Mr. Technology, and Aunt and Uncle Technology. They were looking for technology to steal. lt was fun for a while, but

then it got boring because they were in the helicopter for too long. They played with putty, and it was fun for a while, but that got boring, too. So they looked for computers, tablets, TVs... all the technology you can think of. But they didn't find anything for a while, for a long while! Finally, Mrs. Technology yelled, “Look! There's a flying helicopter right next to us! It has all of the technology you can think of!” “Let's go and steal that helicopter full of junk!” Super Technology sounded really excited. They flew as fast as they could to get to it, and they took a vacuum cleaner and sucked up all the junk, except for the person that was driving the helicopter. There was one problem though. It was a police helicopter. “Run, run, run!” they screamed altogether. Their night was no longer boring after that.

Begin by saving a little bit, maybe $5, each time you get money and before you know it you will have a nice little chunk of change and be well on your way to reaching your goals! 4. Track your progress. Whether you are using a savings app on your phone or a notebook at home, tracking your progress will allow you to see how close you are to reaching your goal. Many parents don’t like the idea of using technology at schools. By the same token, we cannot neglect the advanced tools that facilitate learning and allow us to become more connected and accurate, in many cases. My suggestion has always been to understand how to use technology to our advantage and use it as a learning tool, rather than turning to it for mindless activities. As parents, we can encourage our kids to do more learning with technology!
