HOSPITALITY

CARLSON REZIDOR

PARK INN OLAYAN Riyadh, KSA CLIENT: Olayan Real Estate Investment Group OPERATOR: Carlson/Rezidor SIZE: 183 Guest rooms and Suites DATE: 2016 STATUS: Under construction

Light and space was the approach for our double height lobby lounge with a contemporary garden backdrop with birds of flight art installation. The two specialty restaurants – Bocca Buona and RBG Bar & Grill – were uniquely designed for a grill and Italian concept both designed as international destination venues. 183 Guest rooms designed in alignment with Carlson Rezidors brand standards.

12

13

BOCCA BUONA The italian destination restaurant in the Olayan Hotel, the Bocca Buona, brings the mediteranian spirit to Riyadh. The interior design reflects joyful Italian themes and colours. Communal tables encourage guests and families to dine in the traditional Italian way. A pizza oven and gelati counter enhance the authentic experience. Warm colors and natural materials create a feeling of a trattoria.

14

15

RBG BAR & GRILL Located adjacent to the entrance lobby the RBG is open for breakfast, lunch and dinner. The generous double volume space and large glazed facade provide the space with an airy and fresh atmosphere. Inclined mirrors reflect the daylight and the bespoke lighting fixtures. Family areas are created as enclosed booth seatings catering to the local customs. The lower ceiling provides a cozy feeling to the seating next to the buffet area which is accentuated by a selection of warmer materials such as wooden flooring and bronze colored tiles.

16

17

Carlson Rezidor PARK INN JVT Dubai, UAE CLIENT: Aqua Real Estate OPERATOR: Carlson/Rezidor DATE: 2015/16 STATUS: Under construction

A mixture of long stay apartments and guest rooms, this 247 key tower in the newly developed area of JVT, Dubai was designed specifically to cater for the business traveler in mind. The whole hotel and pool terrace has been designed with a fresh approach to the Park Inn Next Gen standards.

18

19

THE LOBBY Main architectural feature of the hotel is the lobby extending over three floors and featuring a full height glazed facade. The reception area, lobby lounge and restuarant spaces are designed within this space without partition. The challenge was to create comfortable and defined zones within this extensive space and giving character to each of the functions. An arabic inspired pattern is applied in various locations and finishes connecting the spaces, colours are used sensitively. Carefully selected light features respond to the volume of the lobby and restaurant area where a lower level lighting creates a more intimate approach.

20

21

SAFIR HOTEL Salalah, Oman

22

23

CLIENT: Hadia Abdul Latif Jameel OPERATOR: Mövenpick SIZE: 163 guest rooms and suites DATE: 2016 STATUS: Under construction

This 5* boutique style hotel features internal and external courtyards, destination venue restaurants – Curry Tavern and Bistro –, meeting and conference facilities. The design approach reflects a new style of “home from home”. Main feature is the entrance courtyard leading to the reception and lobby lounge. Double height, custom designed screens to the left and right allow glimpses into the curry tavern and the bistro.

24

25

GUEST ROOMS Guests can feel truly at home in our studio apartment style guestrooms, a calm and relaxed scheme is energised with the use of patterned bronze mirror and beautifully textured fabrics throughout. Light colors suite the hot climate of Jeddah and give a fresh feel.

26

27

CURRY TAVERN A contemporary interpretation of indian colors and themes characterize the Curry Tavern. A must-go-to restaurant where curries are served for lunch in the bright daylight. In the evening the space turns into a specialty dining with an elegant yet relaxed atmosphere. Materials and colors are taken form the rich indian culture as are shapes. Bespoke booth seatings, light elements and a tandoori oven add to the exotic experience.

28

29

BISTRO Whether it is for breakfast, lunch or dinner, the bistro is the place to enjoy a meal in a light flooded atmosphere. Bespoke chamdeliers in the double volume space give it a comfortable proportion and provide a cozy eveing atmosphere. Typical elements from the french bistro themes are translated into a modern concept.

30

31

CARLSON REZIDOR

PARK INN NASEEL Makkah, KSA CLIENT: Naseel Group OPERATOR: Carlson/Rezidor SIZE: 1,600 Quest rooms and Suites DATE: 2016/17 STATUS: Design stage

By combining a tower refurbishment with a new built tower, we brought a whole new approach to the guest rooms for religious travellers and catering to their specific needs in public areas. We created large scale dining areas with a sense of smaller spaces within.

32

3333

GUEST ROOMS & PRAYER HALL The guest rooms are based in principle on the Park Inn brand standard with adjustments in respect to the nature of the destination; Makkah. Makkah is primarily the destination for religious travellers and the prayer halls take a central role. Our design is creating a serene and quiet atmosphere and enhances the guest experience.

34

35

THREE IN ONE

DINING RESTAURANT Throughout the towers various dining spaces cater to the large number of hotel guests. Making these restaurants a comfortable experience is a challenge and is achieved by designing individual spaces within the large scale restaurants. Screens create individual spaces and are decorative elements at the same time. Communal tables cater to the travel groups coming from all over the world.

36

37

LOUNGE & DINING Eclectic colours and a mix of furniture is the essence of the Park Inn brand. The lobbies follow the „living room“ concept with loosely arranged seating configurations. While toned down for Makkah still the spirit of the brand is there. The cafe is the smallest and coziest dining venue in the hotel and of a more individual character for smaller groups. The mood is fresh, the themes taken from cafes throughout the world.
