Maps AND PARKING REGULATIONS
Welcome to PHCC
Pasco-Hernando Community College (PHCC) provides cost effective access to higher education and training at four convenient locations in Pasco and Hernando counties. Each campus includes a full-service library, a Teaching-Learning Center that provides nocost tutoring services, and computer stations for student use. While each campus is unique, students appreciate the serene, natural setting of each location. PHCC also offers wireless Internet connections, classroom white boards and online access to registration, class scheules, the College catalog, and internet courses. As one of 28 institutions in Florida’s College System, PHCC is publicly funded and remains one of the most convenient and affordable options for meeting the academic and workforce training goals of our residents.
IMPORTANT: Traffic and Parking Regulations at PHCC
PHCC provides convenient, FREE parking at all locations. PHCC employees, students and visitors are expected to be respectful of other drivers by following College driving and parking regulations. Obeying these rules will preserve the safety of our college community and the natural beauty of our campuses. Drivers not following the regulations listed below are subject to being ticketed by local law enforcement agencies. Vehicles parked inappropriately may also be ticketed and/or towed at the owner’s expense without prior warning. Avoid fines and costly towing fees by following these basic, common sense regulations.
DO:
• follow the traffic signs as posted. The speed limit for driving on any PHCC road or parking lot is 15 mph. • watch for pedestrians. Pedestrians have the right-of-way. • obey all official traffic signs and signals • report accidents and other incidents involving vehicles to local law enforcement agencies promptly. If injuries are suspected, call 911 and notify campus officials as soon as possible.
DO NOT PARK:
• within intersections, crosswalks, sidewalks or fire lanes • anywhere official traffic signs prohibit stopping, standing or parking • on the grass or unpaved areas, unless these areas are clearly designated as overflow parking areas • along curbs, berms, or driving lanes, unless painted lines designate parking spaces • in a manner that obstructs a driveway or disabled access ramp or occupies more than one designated parking space • longer than necessary. Overnight parking is prohibited without prior approval from the campus provost or from the vice president of administration and finance at the West Campus. PHCC assumes no liability for vehicles parked on College property. • in a disabled parking space, unless the vehicle has a valid, handicapped parking permit issued by the Department of Motor Vehicles of the state in which the vehicle is registered. Owners of vehicles parked in disabled parking spaces without a permit are subject to receiving a ticket issued by a local law enforcement agency and being towed. Contact the towing company identified on signs posted at the campus entrances. Make arrangements to retrieve your vehicle and be prepared to pay the associated towing and storage fees. PHCC does not establish or control the towing or storage fees charged by the local towing companies nor does the College derive any financial gain from vehicles that are towed. The sole purpose of towing is to maintain a safe and orderly campus environment.
Ticketed Vehicles
PHCC does not issue parking tickets, however local law enforcement agencies patrol parking lots regularly and may ticket drivers for driving or parking infractions. Drivers with questions or concerns about ticketed vehicles should contact the issuing municipal law enforcement agency. PHCC is not empowered to appeal your ticket.
Vehicular Damage to College Property
Vehicular damage to College property will be investigated and reported to the appropriate law enforcement agency. Owners found at fault will be responsible for reimbursing the College for the cost of repairing damages.
Violation of Traffic and Parking Regulations
Students and employees found to be in violation of traffic and parking regulations may also be subject to disciplinary action and substantial fines in accordance with District Board of Trustees (DBOT) rules 6Hx19-6.13 and 6Hx19-2.59. For details on these rules, please consult the Code of Student Conduct and Disciplinary Policy and the Disciplinary Action Board rules at www.phcc.edu.
