WANDER WILD FESTIVAL
BOWLING BUDDIES
Number one play centre in Killarney This year Buddies Play Centre, situated in Woodland Industrial Estate off the Killarney bypass road, celebrates 12 years in business. Family owned by Gavin and Jacqui Lythgoe, together with their friendly staff, ensures the kids have lots of fun while maintaining the highest standards. Their efforts have been rewarded as Buddies is now the number one play centre in Killarney. The kids love the exciting play areas and themed rooms that are available for those special occasions. The Frozen Princess Party Room is hugely popular with the girls, but the boys head for the Super Hero Room. There’s also the Disney Fairy Party Room for the little ones and the very popular Pirate Party. What do parents do while the kids are having all this fun? Relax with a coffee in the centre’s cafe and enjoy the break.
Wonder no more – there’s plenty to explore The Wander Wild Festival in Killarney, taking place from March 27-29 inclusive, will offer a spectacular opening equinox parade to dramatically celebrate the death of winter and the birth of spring. The action-packed weekend will also feature great escape events such as guided mountain climbs, kayaking on the lakes and night nature walks. "We've partnered with lots of our local outdoor activity providers who've really gotten behind the festival,” Chairman Pat Chawke said. “They will be offering
world class experiences at special Wander Wild-only rates." Live music and entertainment will fill the streets and the Kid's Zone based at St Mary's Church and Main Street will be packed with bouncy castles, interactive National Park educational experience and a nine metre climbing wall. Locals are welcome to join the 'Taste of Kerry' food trail, with select pubs offering taste plates of the very best of sustainable produce. See www.wanderwildfestival.com.

Simply put, the workshops place the focus on the experience rather than the finished product. They are a growing team that facilitates weekly workshops, parties, camps and pop-up events nationwide, led by co-directors, Sheena and David Fortune. The workshops are coordinated by qualified teachers and experienced professionals in fine art painting, visual communications, ceramic design, costume and art teaching in a safe and structured manner. Sheena and David recently relocated to Kerry and have weekly workshops and camps in Tralee. “We are delighted to be bringing our workshops to Killarney and look forward to a full spring/summer season of creative activities at Muckross Traditional Farms,” Sheena said. “Our Easter camp will be set in the enchanting Schoolhouse at Muckross, nestled in the incredibly beautiful Killar-
ney National Park. We'll go beyond the studio, where children will research and draw inspiration from their natural surroundings in the neighbouring farms and woodlands. The camp will cover a wide variety of media, such as sketchbook recording, clay, process painting, mixed media collage, printmaking, still life drawing, landscape drawing and painting on easels (weather permitting). There will also be a host of games and activities where children will have the opportunity to engage with the working farms and animals.” Contact: www.meandthemoon.ie, Facebook and Instagram: @meandthemoonworkshops.
