ACKNOWLEDGEMENT & 1ST ANNIVERSARY O’LEARY
In loving memory of Tom O’Leary
Laurel Hill, Tiernaboul,Killarney
Who passed away on 11th June 2022.
As we lovingly remember Tom, who is so deeply missed by Bríd, his loving wife, best friend and adored by Myles, his son, on this his first anniversary, we would like to express our sincere gratitude and appreciation to all who supported us in the sudden loss of Tom.
Tom was a remarkable man, a wonderful husband, a fantastic dad and a best friend. Dependable, loving, kind and caring. Tom was the definition of pure strength, resilience and the most fearless person we know. He was extremely proud - yet humble. He was fierce - yet gentle. He was strong willed - yet compassionate. He was hardworking and honest. He was loyal and protective. He was loving, kind, caring, funny and sociable. Being a dad came so easy to Tom, he was a natural. He dedicated his world to us, right up to the very end, we were his number one priority and we knew it.
I will be forever grateful for the way you helped me raise Myles, and the lessons I know Myles has learnt from watching you, simply being you. You will forever live in our hearts and thoughts. We’ll cherish the memories we shared with you, forever. You were ‘Our Everything!”. Tom gave us one of life’s most priceless gifts, and that is knowing we can look back on our life together and know we were deeply loved. We knew we had everything we ever needed because we could see it in your eyes, the love you had for Myles and I.
In the days and weeks after Tomi’s passing, some people sent cards, and lots of people spent time with us. It was such a relief to be surrounded by people who care.
Thank you to everyone who sent cards, enrolments, online condolences, phone calls, floral tributes and all expressions of kindness and support. Thank you to everyone who joined us in person and by livestream for Tom’s requiem mass.
Thank You to Seán Coffey, Bridget Lucey, Hugh Rudden and all the teachers and staff of St. Brendan’s College, Killarney for you kindness and help in accommodating Myles in completing his Leaving Cert exams, during this most difficult time - for that we thank you!
Thank You to Mike and Mary O’Shea of O’Shea’s Funeral home, for your kindness, guidance and professionalism.
Thank you to Fr. Niall Howard, Canon Tom Looney and Fr. Paddy O’Donoghue, who concelebrated Tom’s mass, for your kind words of comfort and compassion and help in guiding Myles and I during our most difficult time.
Thank You Myles for your wonderfully articulate and passionate eulogy for your dad. I know he was so proud of you every day, but he would have been so proud to see you have such strength.
Thank you to all my family for your contributions during the funeral, and for all your help and wonderful care since Tom’s passing.
Thank you to Finbarr and Stephen - Friends For Life.
Thank You to Tom’s six brothers who helped Myles shoulder the coffin, bringing Tom to his final resting place in Aghadoe Lawn Cemetery.
Thank you to Marcus and team of the Killarney Park Hotel. Myles and I would like to thank you all.
As it is impossible to thank everyone individually, please accept this acknowledgement as an expression of our gratitude to you all. The Holy Sacrifice of Tom’s mass will be offered for your intentions.

When we were all together
The family chain is broken now
But memories live forever.
May he rest in peace, dear Jesus
In Thy Heavenly home above

In His own eternal love.

That leads me straight to you

For many a broken heart is hid Beneath a smiling face.
