Kerry Parents & Friends festival to celebrate 50 years The Brehon Celebrates 19th Birthday with Spectacular Lawn Party
The Brehon Hotel and Spa proudly marked its 19th birthday last week with lawn party for the staff at the hotel.
As a gesture of gratitude for their unwavering commitment and hard work, the Brehon Hotel and Spa hosted a memorable day for its staff.
The event was attended by over 80 dedicated staff members, who were treated to an afternoon filled with delicious food, exciting games, and heart-warming celebrations.
The festivities kicked off with a barbecue lunch, prepared by the talented chefs of the hotel. Delectable sweet treats and refreshing mocktails were also on offer, expertly crafted by the skilled bar team, providing a delightful culinary experience for all.
Adding to the excitement, Muckross Creamery, a local favourite, made a special appearance with their charming ice cream truck, treating the staff to a variety of delightful frozen delights. Staff also enjoyed an array of party games organized by A Time to Party.
In recognition of their dedication, each staff member received a gift bag in addition to a service pin that was presented to commemorate their hard work and commitment to maintaining the exceptional standards of The Brehon Hotel and Spa.
To make the day even more thrilling, spot prizes were awarded throughout the event, creating an atmosphere of excitement and camaraderie among the team.

Kerry Parents & Friends Association are holding a one-day festival to celebrate their landmark 50th Anniversary this Saturday, June 24th.
The event will take place at the Old Monastery in Killarney. Entry to this event is free and open to the public with free parking for guests. The day is organised by staff at KPFA and local women Lara O' Brien, who after winning over 20K on the Today FM Cash Machine compeition, pledged to donate half of her winnings to the "Buy a Bus" campaign. Kerry Parents & Friends is a charity close to Lara's heart as her own daughter Charlie has down syndrome. The event is to celebrate KPFA’s long relationship with town and a way of saying thank you to everyone for the support down the years. The mini festival will feature stalls selling art, crafts, organic products, jewellery, bric a brac, and various food options will be available in the courtyard. There will be plenty of games for children with live music from the Kelleher family and Truly Diverse.
KPFA will also be holding an official opening of their new sensory garden at 4pm. The team have been working hard to introduce a variety of items that will engage the senses and provide an immersive experience for all who use it. The garden has been carefully designed to with plants and objects that stimulate touch, sight, smell, sound and movement and will be a fantastic new addition to the facilities down at the Old Monastery.
Chief Executive Marie Linehan is encouraging locals and their families to come along and enjoy a fun-filled afternoon from 12-5pm this Saturday.
Spraoi Chiarraí free summer concert season ready to rock
Spraoi Chiarraí has announced a series of free summer concerts in Killarney.
Now in its 18th year the summer concert by the Kerry based youth, Irish Folk and Traditional Music collective will offer four free concerts at St Mary’s Church of Ireland in the town centre.
The first concert, featuring Glenflesk sisters Colleen and Grace Angland on flute, fiddle and piano, is scheduled for July 1. Performances continue with more free concerts at the same venue on July 22, August 5, and August 25 - all performances scheduled for 8 pm.
“On August 19 there will a special outdoor gig on the grounds of Killarney House, arguably, one of the most scenic locations in Ireland,” said director producer Tim O’Shea.
Open to all, this family entertainment is sponsored this year by Kerry County Council Arts Office; Killarney Chamber of Tourism and Commerce and Kerry Gems.
