Great turnout for Lissivigeen National School fundraiser

There was a fantastic turnout to the Coffee Morning in aid of Kerry Mountain Rescue Team, held at the Killarney Oaks Hotel on Tuesday morning as locals showed up in huge numbers to support the fundraiser morning.

In what was described as a bit school reunion, there were great stories shared and so many words of admiration for the work the Kerry Mountain Rescue Team do.

Speaking to the Killarney Advertiser

Ciara Lowe of the Parents Association said: "On behalf of Lissivigeen N.S and Parents Assocation we were very proud of all the people who came out in great numbers to support a fantastic cause. The team offer a vital service to those stranded in dangerous situations. They are truly heroic local people who give so generously of their time. Thank you for showing up in huge numbers to support the morning "

"A huge thank you to Eamonn Courtney and his team from the Killarney Oaks for putting on such an outstanding spread. They went above and beyond all expectations and provided great hospitality for all. We would also like to thank Lou- ise Hurley Bakes for the delicious cakes on the day".

The staff of Lissivigeen N.S both past and present, turned out in great numbers to enjoy the morning as well as many of the students' parents of Lissivigeen N.S and the wider community.

Ciara was also quick to thank the "many wonderful sponsors that donated so generously to their raffle"

Kerry Mountain Rescue said at the morning “the funds raised here today, will go to great use and they were very proud of the turnout”. KMR will always hold a special place with Lissivigeen N.S due to the strong link between the pupils and their families."

As always, the brilliant Marie Carroll was on hand to capture some brilliant photos of the event where a tremendous amount of money was raised, 100% of which will be donated to Kerry Mountain Rescue officially next week.
