It is one of about 50 photographs taken between 1858 – 2001, representing the age of analogue photography in Ireland, to go on display.
This one was taken during the 1979 All Ireland Football final between Kerry and Dublin and shows Mikey Sheehy, who was later named as footballer of the year going airborne with Dublin’s Brian Mullins. The match took place on September 16, 1979 and Kerry won on a scoreline of 3-13 to 1-08.

Town centre homecoming parade planned for Kerry
Win or lose on Sunday, Killarney is planning a homecoming parade for the Kerry team on Monday.
And after last year’s poorly received event in Fitzgerald Stadium, it has been decided to revert to the more traditional welcoming party in the town centre.
As a result the Glebe Car Park on College St will be closed to traffic from 7am on Monday morning to facilitate the event. The car park will re-open for car parking purposes on Tuesday morning.
