F E B R U A R Y 2 015
As we go to Press with our first gallery newsletter of 2015, I hope and trust that your new year is off to a wonderful start! The first two months of the year finds our Scottsdale gallery very busy indeed with a series of artist showcases on exhibit. We are delighted to present our first feature showcase for New Mexico painter Dinah Worman. Worman’s landscape paintings are instantly recognizable for their clarity and depth. Working in both oil and pastel, her work ranges from representational to imaginative variations taken from a creative viewpoint of man and his relationship to the landscape. Canadian Jeremy Browne is enjoying great success in the American art market. Jeremy grew up in the northern most part of Brampton Ontario, spending much of his childhood near the vast farming communities. It was this early influence that led Jeremy to paint the rural landscape and architectural features of the area.

The McCaw triumvirate, comprised of Dan McCaw and sons John and Danny, join forces for Family Expressions, a special showcase of new works by this talented and dynamic family of California artists. All three share a core principal in their work, which is based on expressing feeling and emotion using the fewest elements and the most direct approach. The exhibit Coastal Connections brings together a group of some of the finest plein air painters in the country who have spent the last few months gathering material from the east coast to the west coast for this ocean inspired show. The ocean has always held special allure for artists,

Dan McCaw, along with sons John and Danny have created new collection of studio paintings for “Family Expressions” a show of expressionist and abstract imagery. Sharing a studio in Southern California, the three are immersed in an atmosphere of artistic creativity and spontaneity which gives each of the artists the confidence and ability to take risks and explore new directions with their work. While they each have their own unique approach, all three share a common goal of taking the very basics of art, which are color, texture and design, and composing them in a way that is not only stimulating but also thought-provoking.

In just a matter of a few years, Australian artist John McCartin has catapulted from relative obscurity to international acclaim. In 2014 alone he received over 20 major international awards in less than 9 months. He displayed a marked natural talent for drawing as a boy, but did not start seriously painting until age 20. John displays great versatility in his ability to work effectively in most mediums to capture a very diverse range of subjects with extraordinary drafting skill. An adept painter of landscapes, seascapes, floral/still life, human figure/portraits and animals, his works are visually striking and emotionally charged. His masterful use of color and tone create a powerful illusion of space, light and atmosphere. Light, particularly, is a notable feature of his work. His works can be found in private and corporate collections worldwide.
