EXCELLENCE IN ART SINCE 1963
Dear Friends, As our first gallery newsletter for 2018 rolls off the press, we are pleased to announce our featured February showcases at our Scottsdale and Jackson Hole locations. The winter is indeed a busy time for both galleries, with sun worshipers flocking to Arizona for warmer temps and die-hard skiers heading for Jackson to hit the slopes! In Scottsdale we kick off our busy art season with Birds of A Feather, a group show featuring contemporary artistic interpretations of birds and related subject matter by more than 20 leading artists. Two and three dimensional artworks in various media have been curated by the gallery for this event that convey the character and essence of our feathered friends. Artists throughout history have drawn inspiration from birds. With their aesthetic diversity, expressive faces, and graceful movements, birds have always been and continue to be a popular artistic muse. Carl Brenders, Mallard Reflection, gouache/watercolor on
Jhenna Quinn Lewis, Finding the Right Book, oil on linen blend mounted, 16 x 12 inches, $3,800
Canadian artist Jeremy Browne has illustration board, 35 13/16 x 23 1/16 inches, $40,000 a fresh new collection of paintings that we are featuring in Jackson during the first two weeks of February. Aptly titled Chasing the Light, the show focuses on new studio paintings that explore the effect of light on the land and architecture. Back in Scottsdale, we are also pleased to offer a selection of beautiful new landscape paintings by award winning plein air painter Matt Smith. Matt is an artist deeply committed to the classic tradition of landscape painting and nowhere is this more apparent than in his small, “on the spot” plein air paintings inspired by his many travels. Working directly from nature, he captures the subtleties of mood, light and atmosphere, transforming masses, shapes and colors into a landscape expression. With 2018 well under way, we have a number of gallery shows scheduled over the coming months. Keep an eye out on our website for the most up to date information! We all look forward to having you stop in the galleries during the coming year.
