We are also pleased to showcase the beautiful watercolor paintings of Ian Ramsay. As you will see on the following pages, Ian has given us a wonderful diversity of subjects; from English country scenes to coastal settings from the Pacific Northwest. These newest works highlight his masterly use of light, shadows, reflections on water and luminous skies. New to the gallery this summer is a collection of some of the most astonishingly beautiful and intricate basket weavings that I have ever seen. Handmade in Panama’s rural Wounaan tribe, these vibrant baskets, now some of the rarest art forms across the globe, are the result of ancient weaving traditions passed through generations of the indigenous peoples of the Darién rainforest. Looking ahead, we still have a busy show schedule as we move toward September and all the fall art events at the gallery. Please visit our website where you can see the upcoming schedule of shows and get a sneak preview of some of the artwork that will be featured. Bill Anton, Wyoming Daybreak, 36 x 34 inches, $28,000
A year ago this August we were celebrating the gallery’s 50th anniversary. We are very proud of that milestone and as we continue to move forward and keep up with the ever changing art market, our mission remains steadfast; and that is to be a crossroads for both established artists as well as new talent and to service our clientele in such a way that makes art collecting an enriching and joyful experience. To that end, we continue our expansion into new art styles, new talent, broader subject matter, while still maintaining our core roots of traditional, representational art. Speaking of core roots, every August we host our annual Western Classics show, an event that spotlights the gifted artists who have made it their life’s mission to capture the breadth, diversity and beauty of this place we call the West. Whether a historic representation or a more contemporary narrative, the stories told through these fine paintings and sculpture call to the imagination of collectors from all walks of life. During this event, we are pleased to feature the newest paintings by award winning Cowboy Artist of America Jim Norton, whom we have actively represented since 1986.
We look forward to seeing you in the gallery! Maryvonne Leshe Managing Partner

A member of the prestigious Cowboy Artists of America organization since 1989, Jim Norton is nationally recognized for his painterly oils that chronicle the modern day cowboy as well as historical Native American themes. As a young boy growing up in Utah, New Mexico and Wyoming he experienced ranch and cowboy life first hand which set him on a path to express his personal experiences of living and traveling through the west. Formally trained at Western Wyoming College and Brigham Young University, Norton also spent two years near Perth, Australia. The experience in the rugged outback country offered him a different perspective on western life and further strengthened his love of cowboy culture. Pack trips deep into the mountains have also been a great source of inspiration for his paintings. Today, his strong, precise brushwork and painterly use of colors bring life to the stunning vistas and people portrayed within his art. He is the recipient of many awards and accolades including multiple Gold and Silver Medals at the Cowboy Artists of America Exhibitions.

Handmade in Panama’s rural Wounaan tribe, these vibrant and intricate baskets, now some of the rarest art forms across the globe are the result of ancient weaving traditions passed through generations of the indigenous peoples of the Darién rainforest. Popular for their unique artistry and careful technique, these baskets have gained international fame for their intricacy and design. Often taking months, or even years to complete, the art form is so highly regarded that some have been valued by renowned collectors at upwards of $30,000 apiece. Originally designed purely for practical endeavors of storage or transportation, these baskets, today, have evolved into revered works of art. Gaining their inspiration from the nature that surrounds them and the geometric patterns of pre-Colombian body painting, the talented women who weave them often incorporate ancient Colombian pottery designs and pictures of the exotic plant and animal life found in the Darién rainforest into their creations. Using needles to sew only the supplest of fibers from the native Chunga and Naguala palms, the baskets reflect an impressive range of colors, stemming from the natural hues of local seeds, roots, berries, fruits, flowers, leaves and other native flora. OUR NEWSLETTER FEATURES ONLY A SMALL SAMPLING OF THE AVAILABLE BASKET WEAVINGS. PLEASE VISIT OUR WEBISITE TO VIEW THE ENTIRE COLLECTION.
