hello there!

About Me My name is Kim French. I was born and raised in Idaho. I grew up fishing from paddleboats, building bonefires in empty fields, boating in the summer, skiing in the winter, and spending all my free time with family and friends. I am inspired by texture, architecture, and all things nature and color. I love Diet Dr. Pepper, traveling, and scented candles. I interned for twelve weeks in Chicago, Illinois where I found a new love for skyscrapers and food trucks. I completed three years of school at Brigham Young University- Idaho before transferring and finishing my bachelors in Interior Design at Utah State University.

Design is my passion.

Dorado Beach Residence Puerto Rico

DORADO BEACH An interior hand rendering beginning with a basic Revit build-up and shown as a finished rendering with Prisma markers and pencil. The space is meant to be a vertical experience, using materials and architectural elements such as the wine storage, pictured below. The Ralf Pucci light fixture finishes off the spacer with a sparkle and draws the eye upward.

A vibrant kitchen encaptures the playfulness and culture of Puerto Rico. Ingo Maurer light fixtures dance above the natural wood countertop and are grounded with four organic-shaped bar stools.

A large glass wall showcases the large wine collection featured in the stairway and a pair of egplant swan chairs elegantly dress up the space.

A TINY HOUSE A 1,000 square foot home with a unique, modern style was inspired by a clock cog. The tiny home features a four-foot, cantilevered glass box, a large curved window wall, and ample exterior living space. The requirements for the project included a complete design, model, elevations, and construction documents.

A TINY HOUSE Learning the structural qualities of the house was important to the overall design. With curved walls and large windows, steel beams were necessary to the integrity of the building. Designing the cabinetry and layout of casework allowed a more complete set of documents. All drawings were completed using AutoCAD.

Wren, Retail Ogden, Utah

CHILDREN’S HIGH-END RETAIL Wren is a high-end children’s retail store located in Ogden, Utah. The concept of the wren bird inspired the use of animals and nature inside the space. Scale plays a large role, creating a child-like atmosphere for both the parents and children. Bold color blocking adds excitement to the botique.
