Releases special edition tee to help support Covid-19 relief
Michael Kors Releases Special Edition Tee to Support COVID-19 Relief Michael Kors has unveiled a new design for his ‘Love’ T-shirt in support of COVID-19 relief efforts, specifically those being undertaken by the World Food Programme (WFP). All profits from the sale of each unisex shirt (which features the word love written in light blue on a white background) will be donated to the WFP to help its work in delivering food to children in need across the world. Each purchase is the equivalent of 100 meals and Kors will donate up to two million meals to the WFP.
Kors has been a longtime partner of the organization via his #WatchHungerStop initiative which to date has helped deliver more than 19 million meals. Usually, the WFP delivers these meals through schools, however since the COVID-19 pandemic hit and many schools were shuttered, the organization has had to find new ways to deliver its nutritional meals to the children it supports. “This pandemic has reminded us that what really matters is health and love and community,” Kors said in a statement. “WFP has always worked to help those most in need, using their unparalleled expertise to alleviate suffering and spread hope. They are the organization that much of the world turns to in an emergency, and it’s no surprise that they are rising to the challenges presented by COVID-19. We’re honored to work with them and to share their efforts with our own community.” The new special edition Love t-shirt will be available to purchase in Canada for $48 from mid-July. Last week, Kors announced that he will not show during NYFW in September and that he will be adopting a new, more streamlined fashion calendar moving forward. “We’ve all had time to reflect and analyze things, and I think many agree that it’s time for a new approach for a new era,” he said of the decision.
Quarantine fashion: How to be your stylish best at home
During this lockdown, your self-expression through clothing doesn’t have to be lost to the monotony of pyjamas. You can be comfortable yet stylish with some simple tips and maintain a sense of normalcy. It can be something as simple as styling an oversized tee with a pair of shorts or a t-shirt dress to feel your best; to dressing up and sharing your looks online as a stress buster. Matching complimentary colours will can look good if you’re going for something simple. If it feels too dull , you can always add a pop of colour to take your outfits to another level.
If you’re working from home, a shirt or a kurta can always be your go-to outfit for video calls as they are comfortable and formal enough. Add a neckpiece for extra flare. A simple accessory or two can make your outfit come together perfectly. Putting in some effort into how you dress can help you maintain personal identity and boost your self-esteem. In fact you can recycle some stuff in your wardrobe and create a whole new look. Here are some things from your closet that can be recycled. If you have cleaned out your wardrobe like a lot of us during this lockdown and are left with a pile of clothes and items you’ll never use - here are some tips to get further use out of them! Turn your old t-shirts into a blanket! Cut squares from old tees and sew them together to make a quirky comforter. Make a bag using old denim! This doesn’t necessarily require sewing - hot glue will work just as well. Use old sweaters to make coffee cup sleeves. Simply cut off sleeves to fit around your mug and spice up your coffee experience. Cut flannel shirts to make trendy winter scarfs. Torn tights or stockings can be cut and used as colourful headbands. With inputs from Sana Jhamb, Director - PR & Business Development, Epistle Communications

5. Goyard St. Louis Tote The St. Louis Tote is a little secret investment, which you might not think about immediately. But it is definitely a must buy, since the bags have a unique position on the market. Goyard might not be the most well-known brand out there, but they have a very stable fan base and there are always people looking for one of these bags on the resale market. You could make 1.3 times the retail price by reselling a St. Louis.

4. Louis Vuitton Neverfull Tote The Neverfull Tote by Louis Vuitton is a recognisable statement piece which just celebrated its 10-year anniversary. The bag does not only come in the popular brown colour and LV monograms, but many different editions have been released, even in collaboration with famous artists such as Jeff Koons. The bag will generally retain 85% of the retail value, but a rare limited edition can double in price.

2. The Chanel Classic Flap Bag The Chanel classic flap bag was released in 1955 with a brand new feature that would change fashion history forever. The value of the Birkin is growing by 14.2%t every year. It’s certainly a better investment than gold! Want to go for the jackpot? The black Birkin bag with golden hardware is called the ‘holy grail’ of handbags for a reason.
“5 Things I Wish I Knew Before I Became An International Fashion Model”: Interview with Fashion Model-Turned-GM Kelsey Maskell Thank you so much for doing this with us! What is your “backstory”? Thank you guys! I am from the small town of Spearfish, South Dakota. I grew up with dreams way bigger than my surroundings. I seemed to have been born with a love for fashion and storytelling. I had an incredible family and support system, who pushed me to pursue my dreams. I graduated early from high school and headed down south to the great city of Nashville, TN where I began to develop my modeling career. I signed with an incredible mother agency in Nashville and was sent off to New York to live and work as a high fashion model.Shortly after, I was signed with an agency in Milan, Italy. I moved to Milan as a 20-year old with no guidance, or previous experience of international travel. The first casting I went to there was for a job in Paris, a city I had dreamt of visiting my whole life, and I landed the job. I wish I could say my whole experience working in New York and Europe was that easy, but it was far from it. The industry took its toll on me.The daily rejection and focus on the outward appearance cut deep into my spirit. It’s an industry full of drugs and eating disorders. Staying healthy while surrounded by those influences is a daily mental, physical and spiritual battle. As a result, I now have a huge passion to educate and equip girls who are now where I used to be. Aiding those who face the daily challenges of being defined by how they look, whether in the modeling industry or not.
So what exactly does a model do? A model wears many hats, no pun intended (they may hire for my looks, but they keep me around for my dad jokes.) In all seriousness, the role of a model I believe is widely misperceived. Many people believe modeling is a glamorous life where, thanks to a quote by some 90’s supermodels, we “don’t get out of bed for less than $10,000.” It’s takes a lot of grit, hard work, persistence, and thick skin to make it in this industry. Success isn’t linear, its ups and downs and often never looks the way that you imagined it would.Simply put, a models role is to help make a product look it’s very best, in order to sell that product to the masses. A working model will get hired for print/ad work, e-commerce, online lookbooks, runway shows, fit jobs, showroom, and hair jobs, just to name a few.
What do you think makes your stand out? Can you share a story? “That girl has so much joy. Why is she so happy?” I hear those phrases a lot. What I’ve discovered is that joy, compassion, passion and love are the things that make life worth living. Sadly, few people in the entertainment industry these days can say they live every day full of joy. I’ve discovered that happiness is circumstantial, but joy is found in the heart. When you create deep and meaningful relationships in your life, that’s when you really start living! The second aspect is that in addition to modeling, I am an actress, dancer, and singer. I am able to bring a physicality to the shoot or film. I have lots of sport and outdoor experience. In fact, one of my professional goals is to play the lead in an action movie.
None of us are able to achieve success without some help along the way. Is there a particular person who you are grateful towards who helped get you to where you are? Absolutely! My family and my faith are my rocks. My parents have always been a phone call away, to talk me off any ledge I might be about to fall off, metaphorically speaking. They believe in me and speak encouragement on those days when I want to give up. Everyone pursuing a dream needs someone in their life who can encourage them to keep going on those hard days that we all have.
How have you used your success to bring goodness to the world? I feel very fortunate to have learned so much at a young age. I have encountered many negative influences and forces in my journey, and now use those experiences as a platform to speak truth to others. I feel so fortunate to be able to encourage women on a regular basis. I share with them that models are some of the most insecure people on the planet which proves that how you look doesn’t give you security or a true identity. As an extension of this passion, I have had the opportunity to lead trips to Medellín, Colombia (go paisas!) where we bring relief to at-risk children, the homeless, prostitutes and girls that have been enslaved in the sex trade.
The Perfect Wedding in 2020
This year it’s all about going big or going home for your wedding and here is how you make that happen.
Couture.com: Dolce Moda Platform Puts Every summer since it launched in 2012 Dolce & Gabbana’s couture Alta Moda collections have been shown in a swoonsome series of locations that reads like an Italo-phile’s bucket list. Over that time the designers’ international community of cashed-up customers has grown to around 1,000 members, who return year after year to party hard and purchase with equal abandon. For obvious reasons, in 2020 there could be no reunion on the shores of Capri, or the banks of Lake Como, or the piazzas of Venice, or the temples of Sicily… And that’s a big shame!” So said Stefano Gabbana last week during the filming of this summer’s Alta Moda collection, which took place in the line’s dedicated salon in Milan. “Because all the customers have been in touch with us, saying ‘we miss you guys and we would have loved to have come to Italy and have the weekend together this summer.’ We had already started working on these collections before the lockdown, and we decided to go ahead with a series of pieces dedicated to those customers and the essence of the Italian summer.” Both the Alta Moda womenswear and jewelry being filmed and photographed as Gabbana spoke and its masculine Alta Sartoria counterpart, shot earlier, were as sumptuous as a cannoli is sweet. From a mink-bordered golden kimono to an ostrich feather edged zebra print silk caftan to chiffon dresses printed with souvenir renderings of past Alta Moda show locales, the thrust of the collections was a vicarious evocation of a fantasy mid-20th century beach holiday at which your fellow sybarites included Gianni Agnelli and Sophia Loren.
e & Gabbana’s Alta the Sublime Online
But without the customers on hand to shoot the looks on their phones and WhatsApp their orders straight to their Alta Moda agents, how was this collection going to sell? “Well, they are in touch with us all the time of course, on email, on WhatsApp. But also we built a website—a secret space, that you need a key to enter—where the customers can see all the pieces in detail from every angle and find out all the background about the collections. Then they can build a wish list for the pieces that interest them, click the button, and that information goes straight to our team.” An haute couture equivalent of Net-A-Porter or MatchesFashion, the Dolce & Gabbana Alta Moda site opened to clients late last week. As during the physical shows, prices are shared only with customers and the company is always unwilling to discuss who has purchased what and for how much (although those customers are often happy to share info on their latest buys). Yesterday the company said that nearly all of the Alta Moda clientele had visited the site and that the response was “enthusiastic.” Which suggests that whenever and wherever the Alta Moda crowd may eventually reconvene, these pieces will get their day in the sun.
