WATERWORKS: Para ver el cielo | To See the Sky Urban strategy Site-specific Programme Nautical cemetery and lookout Approximate intervention area 150 m2
Para ver el cielo is a lookout designed to showcase the different landscapes of Córdoba. Mountainous, urban, hydraulic and agricultural. The design is directly inspired by Abrazo, an artwork by Juan Navarro Baldeweg, architect and painter. Embedded in the existing ground, the structure embraces its direct surroundings and carves into the topography of the shore. The observatory structure is adjacent to Córdoba’s existing Nautical Centre. The tower acts as a nautical cemetery where old or obsolete kayaks and canoes are hung against the inside walls.
