Substance Use Disorder (SUD):

Treatable

disease which can lead to an inability to control the use of drugs, alcohol, or other substances.

The 988 Lifeline provides 24/7, free and confidential support for people in distress, prevention and crisis resources for you or your loved ones.

KINDS OF TREATMENT

Assessment

Meeting with a professional can guide you to the services that best meet your needs. Both walk-ins and appointments are available.

Detox

The process you go through when you stop using drugs and alcohol. Detox may need to be managed by a doctor or require a hospital stay.

Medication-Assisted Treatment

Substance use treatment in which medications are used to help manage symptoms.

Inpatient Treatment

Substance use disorder treatment where you stay at the program overnight for a period of time. Length of stay may be 28–90 days.

Outpatient Treatment

Substance use disorder treatment where you have an appointment and leave the same day.
