Mood Board
Statement The redesign of Grace Watson Dining Hall will bring energy and culture into our campus, reflecting the diverse students who utilize it. The design will pay tribute to Grace Watson and her contribution to the RIT campus, by creating a global community environment. It will bring together people from all over the world to RIT, just as she intended it by helping expand the school. The design is inspired by urban environments and the commuter city lifestyle. We want to encourage our users to bike and skateboard and remain active by incorporating storage spaces for such equipment. In turn, this may also attract students from all sides of campus to take a quick bike ride to Gracie’s for a meal. A fresh and clean environment will be created by using pops of color with white and metal components. However the space will remain inviting and warm through the use of wood finishes and a fireplace. The end result will be a modern, urban, and eco-friendly environment, attracting all students for studying, hanging out with friends, or just a good meal.
