Held responsible for sections, elevations, and details of 4 components of building: faรงade of atrium, podium, building, and rooftop in the phase of Conceptual Design, SD, DD, CD. Produced physical models and digital models of mass and details using 3ds Max. Generated drawings of sections, elevations, wall-sections, and details for drawing sets of all stages using AutoCAD. Dealed with various scale drawings and physical models (1/1000, 1/500, 1/250, 1/50, 1/10, and 1/3). Performed design development with ARUP as a structural specialist by meeting and email. Managed digital models with subcontractor for final 3D rendering.

INFINITE FLOW, American Quilt Center, Massachussets Academic Work, May 2011 King and King Design Competition - 1st Place Tool : 3ds Max, Revit, AutoCAD, Photoshop, Illustrator, Laser Cutter The American Quilt Center is designated to a site near the Harvard Campus that faces Quincy Street to the north east and De Wolfe Street to the south. Wolfe Street leads to the Charles River, specifically the Weeks Memorial Bridge.

This creates a unique condition, a principal axis that must be emphasized. To do this, the principal spaces, the Galleries, are suspended above the ground to create a pedestrian access through the site that becomes the connecting piece for the two streets. To make the floating and continuous galleries space, I set up the main truss structure, next hung them from the top structure, and put the other programs on basement and side.

In this project, I handled with structure system, HVAC system, and details.

GRIDscape, Visual Art Gallery, Florence Academic Work, Jul 2011 Tool : AutoCAD, Illustrator, Hand Sketching This project is the proposal for visual art gallery in Florence. This gallery consists of six buildings, and each building is made up of 5m x 5m x 5m grid.

The lattice pattern engages with the old city’s grid of Florence. And new grid is re-created responding to the context. People who live and visit in Florence can experience the city through the frame.

In this project, I produced the sophisticated axonometric and site plan instead of digital program.

FOLDING CITY, Multi-Family Housing Complex, Seoul Academic Work, May 2011 Tool : 3ds Max, AutoCAD, Illustrator This project is proposal for new type and form of multi-family housing complex.

This is motivated from ‘Inception’. There are many simple and repetitive grid of housing complex in Seoul. A natural surface, which is curved and is waved, is inserted in strict grid. And the surface is folded. The combining of pattern and surface creates a new atmosphere.

LOCATIVE MEDIA as NETWORKING HUB, New Food Transaction System, Detroit Academic Work, Dec 2010 Tool : 3ds Max, AutoCAD, Photoshop, Illustrator This project is the proposal of new food transaction system as an urban catalyst. New food transaction system is builted on the light railroad stop which is the future plan of Detroit.

Food ,which is cultivated on vacant lots by local resident, is sold in the Trading Platform. Small movement on an light rail stop would be spread out all over the Detroit.

PASSABLE CITY, Mediatheque, Syracuse Academic Work, May 2013 Tool : 3ds Max, AutoCAD, Photoshop, Illustrator Over the past few decades the city of Syracuse has suffered from a rapid decline in the fields of industry, production, and economy. This has resulted in Syracuse transforming into a rust-belt city. My contention is to recognize the condition and problem of this contemporary industrial city and formulate a methodology that will enable the city to connect the current industrial setting with the post-industrial information age by proposing to design a Mediateque. Contemporary cities have been changing dramatically in the aspect of quantity and quality. Quantitatively, cities are becoming metropolis which exceed the existing infrastructural framework of cities by population growth and city expansion. In quality, the development of technology in multimedia such as networked information technology is rapidly increasing. In recent years, society has been transformed as an information based society, and the new social form has emerging through digital technology. The transformation from an analog information society to a digital information society, demands the new methodology in design. In other words, contemporary society demands a functional, spatial program and new design methods for new social form. In my thesis, I propose a Mediateque to be a catalyst for revitalization. This Mediateque will be comprised of a number of programs that will enable the community to find new jobs and integrate with Syracuse Universities students.
