Kim Kim Gallery was founded by the artist-duo Gregory Maass & Nayoungim at the Market Gallery, Glasgow in 2008. As a non-profit organization, Kim Kim Gallery produces and engages in activities which encompass contemporary art exhibitions, curatorial projects, and locative art.Kim Kim Gallery as an organisation, does not solely function in a gallery context, but operates through an ongoing process of self-awareness, evaluation and adaptation of Kim Kim Gallery’s structure to produce varying spatial, financial, and esthetic circumstances. Responding to the dominance of the relationship of economic systems to the world of art, Kim Kim Gallery — as a peripatetic enterprise — infiltrates the structure of the contemporary art world through the use of unconventional marketing and seeks formats in which art works can function efficiently and independently from the mainstream.
