Serendipity: A Chronicle of a Navy Photojournalist Harry Gerwien Thursday, April 22 • 6:00 p.m.

Experience military life and forty years of travel as seen through the eyes of Harry Gerwien, a former Navy photojournalist and Military Newspapers of Virginia photographer. A portion of the proceeds of the book sales will be donated to the Navy Special Warfare Foundation that provides scholarships for the children of fallen Navy SEALs.

COMMUNITY HAMPTON ROADS NAVAL HISTORICAL FOUNDATION membership There are many wonderful opportunities to explore our regional and national history when you become a member of the Hampton Roads Naval Historical Foundation. The Foundation exists to support the Hampton Roads Naval Museum, one of only twelve official U.S. Navy Museums in the country. As a supporter, you have the opportunity to participate in Members Only special events, and receive discounts to the museum’s Luncheon Lecture Series. You will also receive The Daybook, the museum’s quarterly publication, that carries a mixture of original research, reviews and museum news. More importantly, you will support the museum in its efforts to safeguard the rich heritage of Hampton Roads and the U.S. Navy through artifacts, exhibits, and programs. Behind the Scene Tours Join the Hampton Roads Naval Historical Foundation for two guided tours offered in the spring and fall for members only. On March 26th we will travel and visit the Smithsonian Air and Space Museum’s Udvar-Hazy Center at Dulles Airport in Washington, D.C. The following day will be tours of Washington, D.C. monuments. In the fall, a Behind the Scenes day tour is planned for various Richmond museums. Check our website www.hrnhf.org for the latest details.
