newcomers. Wendy’s parents, Ken and Sandi Staudinger, retired, leaving the capable couple who have worked for Corona Rose Flowers for over twenty years, in charge. Terry says, “Our motto is to treat customers just as they would want their family members treated.” To ensure freshness and quality, Terry deals with growers in Fallbrook, Vista and visits the Carlsbad flower market to hand pick product. “At least two wholesale trucks visit us each day.” Terry adds, “This fills out our inventory allowing us to have stock on hand for all of our customer’s needs.” A floral design crew with a combined 150 years of experience prepares arrangements each day that are delivered to locations in ... Edward Lee, Northwestern Mutual By Don Williamson Starting a new business is seldom easy. In the past 100 years there have been few times more challenging than 2008 to enter the marketplace, particularly in the arena of financial planning. Nonetheless, February of 2008 is when Northwestern Mutual, Certified Financial Planner, Edward Lee, first hung his shingle. He survived the slumping financial period and offers this retrospective, “It was rather difficult, but what it taught me was
