Poetry with Cherry Bomb featuring the amazing G. P. A.
Demons striking at me mentally while the Devil" was laughing nothing was clear no more so I wrote" It seemed to stimulate this poison away from my system I didn't love myself"
Cherry Bomb Over Coming Life Over coming life~! it took me to strip down naked to see all of me including my scares this battle was never really over" I expected that I had this love to give that I could share they would understand me" as I continue I had to really cleanse my own Soul" How can I over come one thing if I let emotions that was wrapped up that made me sad and made life ups and downs" disappointments"
I felt a reject button was there to go off any moment I stay away from any one still naked" I took a hold of myself so I cried missing this best friend missing love missing life died" Still staring same two scars one thing? I'm living it was plain to see right before me God allowed me to keep on living"
Finally getting it from the one and only yes" It's me Rosalind Cherry... over coming my life..."
If some one can see what you could offer them then you were not meant to be self worth of the world is your cause you are beautiful yes" Get off the floor and rise and smile wipe away all of your tears you going to live today smile result my spirit was in need of healing prayed" Here I am today to write to bleed my INK~! to this never ending delay I stopped this light once again died wasn't until I felt my nakedness" To feel I was still breathing this was the whole purpose to life believe is to seek out what you don't want to see that would help you in the end"

From Revenge of An Orgasm Her Tattooed Shoulder hosts a butterfly. Dragon dwarfs her back. Calligraphy is written upon her right shoulder, which is an ode to her mother. Puerto Rican flag with hands surrounding stretches from her cleavage covering her left breast. Under her belly button is written “Heaven” in old English. Roses with thorns circle her right ankle. Vibrant colors cascade all over. My kisses join the menagerie...

How to describe Eric “Crow” Draven? What words would adequately detail the man and his enormous talent, his unwavering focus and drive, and his soul-deep passion for Poetry and the Spoken Word? I think I just realized the words: Enormous, unwavering, and passionate! Eric “Crow” Draven is so much more than a poet; he's a four time published author, a spoken word genius, a talented musician who has graced ESPN with his presence and his poetic flow, the producer and director of Poetry TV presents: The Cipher; an inspiration to anyone with a dream, whether it pertain to poetry or not, and a really nice guy. He is also very active in his community and an Agent of Change.
A born and breed New Yorker with that East Brooklyn swag, Mr. Draven knows his business and handles it well behind a pen and a mic, and most times he can be found at The World-Famous Nuyorican Poets Cafe in Brooklyn with other dynamic poets and spoken word artists. His daily quotes on Facebook have literally changed the face of poetry and, not to mention, a few lives.
With his passion, drive, and dedicated work ethic, Crow's love for poetry and the spoken word will take him far. If anyone doubts that dreams can and do come true with persistence, dedication, and hard-work, I encourage you to take a good look at Eric “Crow” Draven and seriously reconsider. He is currently working on his second history-making poetry documentary “She Is...” and his fifth poetry book My Last Writes.

Eric “Crow” Draven
The first thing you notice when you talk to “Crow” besides the fact that he sounds a helluva lot like Jay-Z, is his humility! This brother has achieved a certain level of success in New York and across the country but you wouldn’t know it by just talking to him. One of his favorite phrases is “I am truly humbled” and folks, he’s not bullshitting!!!
The following interview will give the reader just a bit of insight into the mind and background of this phenomenal artist. So much goes on behind the scenes of that daily quote we have all come to look for...so much thought and planning. The man has a vision...he decided to share just a little of it with us.

Kim: So tell me Crow, how long have you been in love with poetry? Crow: I started writing poetry in 97, and really got addicted to performing around 2001. Kim: So you and the Mistress Poetry have an almost 20 yr. Relationship...has she been
good to you?
Crow: Yes. She has been very good to me... Kim: I see you've been on ESPN.
Tell our readers how that came about.
Crow: Yes, I was selected to perform on ESPN during the NBA All Star game in Atlanta. I was scouted at the world famous Nuyorican Poets Cafe in NYC. I co-wrote the piece that was performed and my co-writer, and recruiter became one of my dearest friends. I can never pay Sean back for giving my pen and presence the opportunity to truly take center stage. Kim: Who all have you done work for? Crow: ESPN, College Sports TV, Nuyorican Poets Cafe and an amazing list of producers, poets, and promoters that believe in the impact of my words. Kim: Since the intro also lists you as a musician, where has some of your music been featured?
Crow: I released a soundtrack to my second poetry book "Windows to my Past" on iTunes. I also feature my music as the background music at my live events and as the background music to my documentaries. Samples of my music can also be found on my website. I was recently featured on a CD with Judy “Tru Story” Austin This is My Pen Vol.1. The name of the track is I am in love with words... Kim: Now I know our readers want to know and so do I…how did you come up with the name “Crow”?
13
Crow: As a former rapper, I was once known as “ Scarecrow”. The name suited my style of rapping, my height and mixed message in my image. In time people started calling me “Crow” for short and it has remained. In some Native American tribes, a Crow is a warning, a symbol of things to come. I believe that's where the name holds the most truth and meaning in Kim: A rapper huh? That’s what’s up! Well, tell the readers, if you, can who you have toured and re
Crow: I have recorded and done shows with some amazing artists. I am proud of the fact that I can call many of those artists my friends. I am weird about calling out other artists because I don't want to build my name on their backs but on the quality of my pen and performances. On my website, the list of names I've worked with is vast and ever growing and I am truly humbled that they worked with and educated me. I want to be worthy of my name being mentioned in the same line and only the readers and poetry lovers can decide if I am. I don’t like to drop names. Kim: Besides working on the second documentary and your fifth poetry, what else have you got going on? Crow: I just finished my first poetry tour...COVERED IN INK! I have traveled before performing but this is the first time I actually did it as a tour, per-say. It covered several states during the months of Oct. and Nov...Georgia, Pennsylvania, Ohio, and New York. It was interesting to go to these places and meet other artist face to face...the connections were amazing and remember, I’m also filming for “She Is...” while I’m \there. It has been a truly amazing experience! Kim: Sounds like a lot of fun but also some work.
Got anymore tours planned???
Crow: I’m working on bookings for my 2014 tour now so readers look for Crow in a city near you in 2014! Kim: Tell us about your documentaries The Cipher and She Is... Crow: “The Cipher” is an intimate look into the stories, heart, and soul of your favorite artist. The show is more than just your favorite artists performing poetry for applause and scores. This is your favorite artists opening up their lives and introducing you to more than just the skill of their pens or the impact of their performances. They are actually introducing you to the tales and realities that shape who they are. It is my way of drawing attention to the world of poetry in general and other artist specifically...to bring unity to the world of poetry. “SHE IS...” is first my dedication to women, not only as women but as artist and equals in this craft. It is also my way of leaving behind a visual legacy for my two daughters. Through “She Is...”, they can get another glimpse of strong, capable women handling their business and teaching life lessons through their words. Kim: Wow dude, now that’s what I’m talking about...what a legacy to leave. From women to women! It’s obvious you stay pretty busy so what do you like to do to wind down in your spare time?
14
Crow: I am so I don’t have much spare time but when I do, I like to enjoy life. Smile, laugh, love, explore, refuel. Kim: Now Crow, do you work with a promoter/management team? Who can we contact for bookings, features, interviews and management? Crow: As of now, I work alone so if anyone is interested in booking me for a performance, interview, and feature or to showcase my documentary, they can send any request through my website www.mylastwrites.org, inbox me on Facebook com/ericcrowdraven, and/or email me at mylastwrites@gmail.com. Kim: Ok Crow, where can our readers see or buy your work product? Crow: My books “Windows to my Past”, “Sinning on my way to Church”, and “The Search for Substance” can all be found on amazon.com, barnesandnoble.com and in your local book stores. In addition, I release a daily quote on Facebook.com/ericcrowdraven and twitter.com/ericcrowdraven every day. All my info, upcoming events and music can be found on my website. Kim: Finally, any shout outs or thank yous? Crow: I would like to thank you for the opportunity to touch your readers and to create a path to travel
where legs that look like mine was never meant to see... –Crow Kim: Thank you Eric “Crow” Draven for taking the time out of your busy schedule to come talk with us about your talent and your many creative works. We wish you much success with your upcoming poetry book, number 5, and your new poetry documentary “She Is…” “Crow” interviewed by: Kim Morrow 11/14/2013

Brooklyn’s Own King Piff
King Piff was born in Panama City , Panama and came to the United States at the age of 2. King Piff and his mom where back and forth from Panama to Brooklyn, NY until he turned 5. They overcame a lot to be able to permanently reside in the U.S. He began break dancing and pop locking at the age of 5 , he had discovered something he loved along with his other artistic abilities to draw and paint. It wasn't until the age of 8 when he first heard ladi dadi , by Slick Rick and Rock the Bells by L.L. Cool J that he knew what he wanted to be when he got older. He started writing down his first rhymes at the age of 8 and recorded his first song at the age of 10. He has been blessed with the opportunity to perform at the Arc in Brooklyn , Wetlands , various Cuny colleges , theaters, halls and so forth. He had 2 big opportunities to be signed with a major. After failed attempts he joined the marines, after being discharged with an O.T. H . he moved back to BK and got back to work. It's been a very long and difficult road and you can hear it in his music , the frustration , anger , passion , as well as the slick talking witty wordplay , that NY MC's have been known to posses. He has gotten comparisons from Tupac , Ghost-face , Nas , Dmx , Prodigy , & common. Written by CollabOoO on the android market : A unique blend of Hip-Hop and Reggae with genius lyrical ability CollabOoO recommends King Piff!! He has 2 songs that have been placed on a straight to TV movie entitled The Cross Bearer this movie is scheduled to air on HBO later this year. "The seed that fell among thorns stands for those who hear, but as they go on their way they are choked by life's worries, riches and pleasures, and they do not mature." Luke 8:14
My life has not been a bed of roses. What an odd statement. It is supposed to mean that I haven't lived a life without snags and hurt. Let me say, if I was reading this and I saw it was going to be about roses, I might be tempted to click "delete" while rolling my eyes and thinking the last thing the world needs is another cutesy Christian analogy. But stick with me here. There is something significant to be discovered about roses and thorns. My Mother grew roses for years. When I was in middle school and my father passed away. I remember her telling me not to run through her rose garden. I could run anywhere but there. But I didn't want to. I only wanted to run through the rose garden. I wanted to spread my arms wide open and run between the rows brushing my fingertips across all the velvety blooms. I wanted some of the blooms to burst and shower petals all around. Then I could gather the petals and spread them along my path. As if I could carve a new place in this world lined with beauty and void of adult words like death, rejection, and hate ... I wanted my world to be soft, pink, and lovely. So, I took a running start with my arms outstretched only to be shocked with searing pain within the first few steps.
20
Thorns. Big, mean, vicious thorns. Thorns that ripped my flesh and opened up the flood of tears I'd been so determined to hold back. Suddenly, I hated that bush. I wanted to chop it down and beat it into the ground. But I couldn't do it. I couldn't bring myself to destroy something that produced such beauty. Plus my Mother would have killed me... I stood back from the source of my pain and wondered should I call it a bush of thorns or a bush of flowers. Really, it could go either way. Suddenly I wasn't just staring at a bush. I was staring at my life. My life. Such a bed of roses. Would I see the hurt or would I see the beauty? Luke 8:14 says, "The seed that fell among thorns
stands for those who hear, but as they go on their way they are choked by life's worries, riches and pleasures, and they do not mature." The seed being referred to here is the Word of God. Isn't it interesting that people who are choked by life's circumstances and never mature are referred to as having thorns in the soil of their soul? Yes, life sometimes hands us thorns but we have the choice to park our mind on the thorn or on the beauty it can eventually produce in us if only we'll cling tightly to God's Word. For however a person thinks is how they will eventually become. If we dwell on and think about the negative in life, we will become negative and God's Word will have a hard time taking root in our souls. If, however, we acknowledge the
negative but choose instead to look for the good that can come from it, God's Word will take root in our souls and produce a lush crop of beauty. It all comes down to choice. Dear Lord, it can be really hard to focus on the petals rather than the thorns of life. Really hard. Will you help me? I want the soil of my soul to be healthy and ready to receive Your Word. I want to produce beauty in my life despite the thorns by which I've been so hurt. Will You show me how?

I met Author Laredeaux (LaShawone Powell) in June of 2012, when I first began my facebook adventure. She was one of the kindest and most helpful people I had the privilege to come to know and she still is. We began our interaction over a piece of poetry Shon wrote entitled “Grass” and we have been traveling this literary road together ever since.
GRASS Beautiful green smells fresh and mean cut so tight hedges trimmed up just right my grass is the ish no you can't touch my shit I keep my grass on lock as I spread a few seeds keep Yo dogs off my block I see them eyes crossing envy churning while you're contemplating and yearning but keep Yo ass off my grass or I may be forced to thrash Yo ass yes my grass is the ish dew drops trickle slow afraid to let go lush and ample you plead for just a small sample but your parts is weak unable to handle this delightful treat so keep Yo ass off my grass or I'll get Big Worm to whip dat ass
BIO~~~~~~~LaRedeaux began writing as a way to express herself early in life. The Georgia native is an author and CEO at Midnight Publications. LaRedeaux has published several flash fiction and short stories. Coming January 2014 Smiley Face Killers. I write stories to entertain and offer a temporary escape into another life. I create interesting characters who may linger with the reader long after they have finished the story. Some stories examine lives, motivations, hopes and fears and the courage to change. I write about the everyday stuff, but with a fictional touch. I write about the four L's: life, love, lust and lies – including the lies we tell ourselves. And yes, I want to change the world. A little tiny bit of it, anyway.
