For yoga, lifting, running and beyond. Leggings to work out in are a little different from your everyday leggings. Whether you’re wearing them for lowimpact workouts, high-intensity exercise or weight-bearing exercises, your workout leggings should be comfortable, moisture-wicking, breathable and durable. They also should fit well, stay in place and look good while you’re wearing them. The Good Housekeeping Institute Textiles Lab reviewed dozens of leggings, evaluating them for construction, stretch recovery, moisture management, opacity, pilling resistance and washability. These picks are winners from our tests along with styles with rave reviews from users. Best Overall Workout Leggings: lululemon Wunder Under High-Rise Tight. Our panel loved the soft, comfy

feel of this fabric and said it stayed in place like a second skin throughout their workouts. Reviewers raved that it “allowed for a good range of motion” and “didn’t give me wedgies and the band didn’t move at all.” The leggings were breathable, flattering and opaque, and they held up during durability tests. They come in lots of variations, including multiple lengths, colors and prints. Best Leggings For Studio Workouts: Athleta Elation 7/8 Tight. Athleta’s Powervita fabric is buttery smooth and used in an assortment of styles. They’re easy to move around in, yet have a compressive fit to support you during workouts. You can choose from regular, tall, petite and plus. There’s also an ultra high-rise, a capri, a crop, a full-length and plenty more. Most Popular Workout Leggings On Amazon: IUGA High Waist Yoga Pants. These stretchy leggings have thousands of five-star reviews despite costing less than $20. One thing that users note is that there isn’t as much tummy control as they were expecting. Still, they describe these as soft and comfortable and confirm that they aren’t see-through. Best Workout Leggings For Running: Under Armour HeatGear Armour Leggings. These leggings are made of a smooth fabric that wicks sweat and reduces friction. They’re also more compressive, which can help with muscle fatigue. If you’re running in cold weather, we recommend the ColdGear Leggings because they’re fleecelined yet still breathable for your run. Best Workout Leggings For Yoga: lululemon Align Pant. These pants are comfortable enough to wear as loungewear yet perform well during workouts. The fabric is lightweight and smooth, and magically fit everyone perfectly. There’s no digging in or rolling at the waist. We suggest washing them inside out and letting them air dry, and since they’re more lightweight, they’re best suited for lower-impact exercise. © Hearst Communications Inc.
