King Features Congratulates Our Cartoonists on their 2021 Reubens Nominations!
HONORS + ACCOLADES
Each year, the National Cartoonist Society bestows the industry’s highest honors, The Reuben Awards, to deserving artists. We’re proud to share that this year’s nominees include the artists of seven different King Features’ strips!
DIVISIONAL AWARDS NOMINEES DARRIN BELL Darrin Bell, the first African-American cartoonist to win the Pulitzer for Editorial Cartooning, produced some of his best work in 2020, as he covered the COVID pandemic, the 2020 election, and anti-Black violence in American with courage, relentlessness, and unsurpassed artistic skill.
STEVE KELLEY AND JEFF PARKER Steve Kelley and Jeff Parker marked their tenth anniversary on Dustin in 2020, and their work only gets better. As Gen Z comes of age, their work continues to be a relatable commentary on how growing generation gaps and growing wealth gaps impact young adults and their families today.
LINIERS Liniers is a relative newcomer to American comic strips, but he is a legend in Argentina, where his whimsical, optimistic comic, Macanudo, began. He pairs gorgeous watercolor artwork with a sense of wonder and hope that can get even the most cynical of us through a bad day.
