Macro Elements/Symbolic Codes and Conventions For the PBR&B/Alternative R&B Genre.


PBR&B Genre For our music video we will be making a video to fit the PBR&B also referred to as Alternative R&B Genre. Make up and Costume: for this genre is dark clothing and make up, dark/dim lighting, the acting is slow and mysterious as the music is generally slow. The general costume for this genre is stereotypical teenage clothing such as all black, skinny jeans, oversized jackets, gold jewelry, heavy/dark make up.


Macro Elements Setting: most of the music videos in the PBR&B genre are set at a house party, in a club, out on the street. The lighting is always dim or dark, could use lighting to symbolize certain things such as red to highlight the devil and evil. Narrative: mostly house parties or a journey to somewhere
