THE LITTLE MERMAID
THE LITTLE MERMAID ONE OF COPENHAGEN'S MOST FAMOUS TOURIST ATTRACTIONS LANGELINIE 2100 COPENHAGEN Ă˜ The Little Mermaid is a bronze statue by Edvard Eriksen, depicting a mermaid. The sculpture is displayed on a rock by the waterside at the Langelinie promenade in Copenhagen, Denmark. It is 1.25 metres tall and weighs 175 kilograms. Based on the fairy tale of the same name by Danish author Hans Christian Andersen, the small and unimposing statue is a Copenhagen icon and has been a major tourist attraction since 1913. 23 August 2015 she turned 102
years old. The statue was commissioned in 1909 by Carl Jacobsen, son of the founder of Carlsberg, who had been fascinated by a ballet about the fairytale in Copenhagen's Royal Theatre and asked the
ballerina, Ellen Price, to model for the statue. The sculptor Edvard Eriksen created the bronze statue, which was unveiled on August 23, 1913. The statue's head was modelled after Price, but as the ballerina did

not agree to model in the nude, the sculptor's wife, Eline Eriksen, was used for the body. The little mermaid has several times been the victim of vandalism. She has lost her head, the arm was sawn o, or she has had paint poured on her. But every time she is rescued and restored, so she can stay in her place by the water and bid travelers welcome to Copenhagen harbour.

ROSENBORG CASTLE
ROSENBORG CASTLE ROYAL ART TREASURES AND THE CROWN JEWELS ØSTER VOLDGADE 4A 1350 COPENHAGEN K Less than ten-minutes' walk from the Round Tower and now home to some of Denmark's greatest cultural treasures, the castle was originally built by Christian IV as a pleasure palace. Inhabited by the royal family until 1720 and after that used as a summer retreat, the castle and contents became a museum in 1838. In the basement are the Danish crown jewels and royal
regalia. Of particular interest are the Marble Room, a Baroque reception room, and the Knights' Hall with the Coronation Throne (used between 1871 to 1940), as well as the famous Rosenborg Tapestries, which have adorned the walls since 1693.
Rosenborg Castle is a pure delight to visit with its setting among lush green gardens. The tapestries and halls inside reveal a definition of true royal opulence. Crown Jewels exhibited in the castle since the 17th century are a real
treat for those spellbound by royal history. The Danish crown jewels are the only ones in the world that are both museum pieces and worn by the country’s Queen, including Napoleon era diamonds to crowns worn by past rulers. You can see also portraits of Johan Friedrich Struensee and Queen Caroline Mathilde who was married to the insane King Christian 7, but had a fatal love aair with the king's physician Johan Friedrich Struensee.

BOB DYLAN NEVER ENDING TOUR. 9 October 2015 - 20:00 Falconer Salen Falkoner Allé 7, 2000 Frederiksberg Bob Dylan (born Robert Allen Zimmerman, May 24, 1941) is an American singersongwriter, artist, and writer. He has been influential in popular music and culture for more than five decades. Much of his most celebrated work dates from the 1960s when his songs chronicled social unrest, although Dylan repudiated suggestions from journalists that he was a spokesman for his
generation. Nevertheless, early songs such as "Blowin' in the Wind" and "The Times They Are aChangin'" became anthems for the American civil rights and anti-war movements. The Never Ending Tour commenced on June 7, 1988, and Dylan has
played roughly 100 dates a year for the entirety of the 1990s and 2000s - a heavier schedule than most performers who started out in the 1960s. By May 2013, Dylan and his band had played more than 2,500 shows,
anchored by longtime bassist Tony Garnier, multiinstrumentalist Donnie Herron, and guitarist Charlie Sexton. To the dismay of some of his audience, Dylan's performances remain unpredictable as he alters his arrangements and changes his vocal approach night after night. Some have criticized his live performances for mangling and spitting out "the greatest lyrics ever written so that they are eectively unrecognisable".
