• Jesus taught His staff how to be fruitful so that their joy might be full. • Jesus said that He chose us and appointed us in order to go and bear fruit. • As leaders we must be more than faithful; we must be fruitful. Leadership Principles from God’s Word: Equipping


We have great potential for fruitful leadership because of our… Purpose. God created us to glorify Him by bearing much fruit.

Equipping: The leader’s job Equipping is a tough job It is much harder than shepherding.

Equipping people by • Caring for them (communication, affirmation, recognition and setting an example). • Give them your time, energy and focus. • Give them ownership. • Be a resource in terms of atmosphere, training, support. Leadership Principles from God’s Word: Equipping

Equip others to realize their God-given potential Taught others so that they can reproduce themselves in others.

Be a provider for the people in your life Paul was a provider: Col. 1: 28, 29

Providers are • Purposeful. They approach others with a purpose and to add value. • Relational: They are warm and inviting and work at relationships. • Objective: They assess strengths and weaknesses objectively.

Providers are • Vunerable. They model self – disclosure and honesty. • Incarnational: They are examples of what they teach. • Dependable: They are consistent and responsible for their promises.

Providers are • Empowering. They give power away and facilitate growth in others. Resourceful: They use every tool they have to grow people.

The scripture is a thorough equipping tool, providing doctrine, reproof correction and instruction so that everyone may be equipped for every good work. 2 Tim. 3: 16,17

Using scripture, the leader is to lay the foundation, provide direction, confront others when they err, correct their behaviour, and help them progress again.

Prayer Focus • Father, In the name of Jesus, I surrender myself to walk in the Word. Your word living in me produces the Life in this world. • The word is a lamp to my feet and a light to my path. It makes my way plain before me. • I boldly and confidently say that my heart is fixed and established on the solid foundation – the Living Word of God!
