APPLYING MAKE-UP FOR BEGINNERS
If you are looking to apply foundation for the first time, then it is always better to experiment with a powder or cream-based foundation, as these are the easiest ones to apply. While a powder foundation needs to be brushed onto the skin in light outward strokes, a cream based foundation has to be simply glided on using a soft makeup brush that may come along with it. These are best for a novice as they are applied and removed easily. Hence, these are the best to experiment with, in terms of realizing how much foundation you actually need for your face. Also, it is best to keep a soft cloth or a packet of wet wipes handy while applying foundation for the first time, so you can erase and start again. Try putting on your foundation next to a window where there is abundant natural light to ensure you are getting the right skin shading done in the right places. Always apply makeup, like foundation, in a cool room, or under or near an air conditioner. This shall ensure your foundation settles well and fast and binds to the rest of your makeup well. Going in for a waterproof foundation is also a good idea especially during the monsoon or the winter months, as that ensure s that even if your makeup like eyeshadow and lipsticks fades or gets washed away, your foundation shall continue to give you an overall flawless skin look. The Sanctified Worshiper
Donna Renay Patrick I grew up in the Baptist church, and was told to stay away from “that sanctified church.” Well, they seemed to preach the same Jesus we did, so I didn’t understand why we were told that. And as time went on and I began to embark on my own spiritual growth journey, what I learned is that “sanctified” really isn’t a denomination – it is a lifestyle. It is how I live my life in a manner that pleases God. Being sanctified means my decision-making is in accordance with what God would have me do. But the only way I can KNOW what God would have me do is to plant
myself deep in His Word. By definition, to be sanctified means to be “set apart.” If I join a church with the word “sanctified” in its name, does that make me sanctified? Does church membership in a certain church set me apart? In theological terms, “sanctified” means being set apart for God’s intended purpose. In the Greek, sanctification means “holiness.” So, in other words, to sanctify means “to make holy.” But here is where many in the Body of Christ miss it: our holiness begins with God. In Leviticus 21:8b we see “. . . for I the Lord, who sanctifies you, am holy.” It is not at all about us and our holiness. We can never be holy in and of ourselves. To live a sanctified life means to live our lives in a way that pleases God. It means that we have been set apart for His service. This does not mean, however, that we are perfect; the scriptures are very clear in that all have sinned and come short of the glory of God (Romans 3:23). Nor does it mean that we conform to some stiff manner of dress, or even that we practice certain prohibitions like women not wearing makeup. But how does all of this relate to worship? The sanctified worshiper is a surrendered worshiper. Sanctification occurs upon our acceptance of Christ into our lives. God has called us all to sanctification in Christ Jesus, independent of our chosen denomination or church affiliation. Hebrews 13:12 tells us we are sanctified through Jesus’ blood. Jesus prayed in John 17:17 that we might be sanctified in the truth, which is
God’s word. Whenever we don’t allow God to exercise His Lordship over our lives, we miss out on the power He will give to our plans, and to our area(s) of ministry. God can fill a surrendered heart. To surrender means to “give up control”, or “submit”. My love of classic westerns reminds me of those scenes when the law catches up to the bad guys and orders them to put down their guns. In an act of total surrender, the bad guys’ hands go up over their heads. Their crime spree is over, as they have been exposed. They can no longer live the carefree life they had become so accustomed to. Surrender is what stops many people from worshiping – they are afraid that as a byproduct of their surrender God will reveal some things that they are not prepared for. But a surrendered, sanctified worshiper is not afraid of what God will expose, or what He will commission them to do. God had sanctified Jeremiah a prophet to the nations before he was born (Jeremiah 1:5). Although apprehensive at first, Jeremiah chose to walk in God’s calling on his life. Conversely, on God’s instruction, Moses consecrated Aaron and his sons, Nadab and Abihu as priests. When both sons dared offer strange fire before the Lord after He specifically warned them not to, God killed them right there (Leviticus 10:1-3). There was no question, no repentance, and no praying. God just took them out! God takes sanctification very seriously. You see, for the sanctified worshiper

As we enter this Christmas season we are reminded to be thankful for our life, health and strength but more importantly the “Salvation” that was granted to us by the Blood of Jesus. Jesus was born to die and save us from our sins. We have so much to be thankful for in this season. We believe it’s a time to give to others as an act of love and not something due. We give out of appreciation for how God gave to us. Let’s not forget the true meaning for the season. it isn’t about mere church attendance; it is about showing up at church prepared to meet God. For them it isn’t about getting their own needs met, but it is about becoming spiritually naked before the Lord. This is the kind of worshiper who understands that it’s not about status, position, or personal economics – it’s all about Jesus!! The sanctified worshiper is a spiritually sleepless worshiper. Those who are spiritually sleepless are always watching for God’s movement in the Body, and in their individual lives. They are also watching for enemy activity. In Biblical history we see numerous instances where cities were surrounded by very high, and very sturdy walls. There were usually “watchmen” stationed atop those walls. The job of the watchmen was to stand guard and warn of an approaching enemy. The Prophets of Israel saw themselves as watchmen to warn
the people of God’s judgment if they did not repent. The apostle Peter admonishes us to be on the alert because our adversary, the devil, is seeking someone to devour (I Peter 5:8). Jesus Himself told us to be watchful in expectation of His coming (Matthew 24:42). When we worship God on a daily basis our spirits are sensitized to what God is doing. Our intentional worship of God keeps us on the alert because we are always tuned in to Him with an expectancy for His movement and direction. When we walk that closely to Him, we move when He moves. God has called us all to sanctification and to worship; both of which extend beyond church attendance on Sunday morning. With each new day comes a new reason to worship Him.

MARRIAGE MATTERS
RESOLVE TO BE AGREED Elder RD Anderson-Bailey, MFT Amos 3:3 (KJV) states, “How can two walk binding contract in which two parties together except they be agreed? Understanding the importance and power of agreement begins with grasping the concept that disagreement will happen. You see, resolving to be agreed doesn’t mean that you never fight. On the contrary, you will absolutely disagree at times in your relationship. But the power of your initial agreement to marry means that you remember your purpose is aligned with theirs and you walk through life together, even the dark areas. Why? Because, you realize that the purpose of your union depends on it. You must then understand what it truly means to resolve to be agreed. Resolving to be

agreed means that the goal isn’t to be right it’s to be together. It may even mean that you have to adjust your plans and will (together). Ask yourselves, “Did our fighting make us “walk” (this could be in your thinking or planning) in separate directions and away from our purpose (this could be spiritually or naturally)?” Now ask yourself, “Do I want to be agreed or do I want to be right?” The answer to these questions will tell you if you’re ready to take steps to resolve to be agreed.
WAYS TO TELL IF YOU RESOLVE TO BE AGREED: You’re willing to evaluate what you are not agreeing upon. (i.e.,“What are we fighting about, really?”) You’re willing to take a break and come back to it when you’re both calm (get your emotions out of the mix) You’re willing to apologize for the part you played. You’re willing to pray together not praying your desire but praying for guidance in the matter. You’re willing to align on a plan to fight the problem and not the partner.
Whether you are dating, engaged or have been married for 40+ years, ask yourselves, Are we aligned with God’s vision for our marriage? Are we able to “be agreed” not on what we are fighting about but about the way we walk out our love in our marriage? Answering these questions and assessing the agreement you entered, can save you the agony of fruitless fighting and settle even the roughest turmoil. Remember the goal is to walk together and be agreed.” @RelationshipDecoder

What is my Purpose? PROPHETESS
Kimberly M. Fleming It’s the most wonderful time of year! It’s my favorite holiday......Christmas!!! I love everything about Christmas, the tree, the lights, the music, the Hallmark Christmas movies lol, the food and egg nog, and the shopping. But most of all spending time with my family. All the preparation that goes into making that one day special to some is stressful but for me it’s so much fun. I understand that the real reason for the season is Jesus. When you think about the story of the birth of Jesus it’s a beautiful story. What makes it so beautiful is knowing that Jesus was born into this world with a purpose to fulfill. How many of us really understand and know our purpose in this world. Jesus knew exactly what His purpose was. All through scripture we see the purpose for which Jesus was born. Luke 19:10 Jesus Christ came into the world to seek and save the lost. John 18:37 says that the purpose of Jesus was to be a King and bear witness to the truth. John 10:10, Jesus came that we might life, and have it more abundantly. Matthew 5:17, He came to fulfill the law, to fulfill prophecy. Galatians 4:4-5, Jesus was born with the purpose to redeem us from the curse of the law. He came that
we might live and have eternal life. We were all born with a purpose. The sad thing is many of us go through life never fulfilling our purpose. If you don’t know, ask God what is my purpose? We were all born with a plan and purpose from God to fulfill in the earth. It’s up to each of us not to let the enemy, our insecurities, or what others think or say about us keep us from fulfilling those things God has set out for us to do before the foundation of the world. You see the Christmas story is more than Jesus being born in a manger, and wrapped in swaddling clothes. It’s the story of Him being born into this world with a purpose to save the world. To preach the gospel, heal the sick, raise the dead. To show us how to forgive, and be forgiven. To show us how to love our neighbors as ourself. His purpose was that we might be saved through the shedding of His blood, Him dying, but 3 days later rose again. All of this so we could live with Him and the Father in heaven for eternity. What a beautiful story. Yes I love Christmas because Jesus is really the reason for the season! Have a very Merry and Blessed Christmas!

Principle #4 If you have been following the advice from the magic green box for the last three months it is now time to tell you where to get it. Both Sharina George and I have access to this magical program that will help alleviate the stresses of living in a culture where we often feel compelled to keep up with our friends. Contact info will be at the end of the article. In principle 4, we begin to stop taking advice from our broke friends. Yes, that neighbor who drives that amazing car and has the latest android may be digging himself deeper into the bondage of debt. Unless you have seen his savings account and his emergency fund, or balanced his checkbook for him, you may be following bad advice. Find a mentor whom you know is following Biblical principles of finance. I am drawn to the book of Proverbs in chapter 12. So many nuggets of wisdom are spoken in regards to words of wicked men, sinful talk, false witness and my favorite from this chapter, Proverbs 12:11 “He who works his land will have abundant food., but he who chases fantasies lacks judgment.”Do not chase the fantasies of your friends and neighbors when you know they can’t afford it either. Principle 5 takes what we talked about last month just a bit farther. Hopefully, our readers are starting to budget and know that in the beginning you will mess it up and over budget here and under budget there. That’s normal and usually takes about three or four months to really get in the groove of tithing and paying bills first, before gadgets, fancy dinners and so on. So in principle 5 we begin to save for unexpected expenses. First, let’s agree on what is unexpected. Birthdays and Christmas come the same time each year. Having to purchase gifts…..not unexpected. Children needing new boots for winter…….not unexpected. Aunt Bessie getting evicted from her apartment and needing to stay with you for a few weeks……unexpected. Having your alternator belt fall off on the freeway and having your car towed 30 miles to the nearest garage…...unexpected. So our goal here is to have a second savings for unexpected expenses. I can actually hear the groaning from some who are reading this. I get it. Things are tight enough already, living on the 80% of after taxes income. It just doesn’t seem logical to start saving more when the interest on a savings account is so paltry and the interest on a credit card is so high. It seems like 100% of your effort should be to pay those off, right? Wrong. My husband and I tried that for years,
Principle #4
Financial Article December 2017
The Magic Green Box and here is what inevitably happened. We were so proud of making more than the minimum payment on our credit cards each month. We could actually see the light at the end of the tunnel, until, wait for it, my car (with over 175,000 miles on it) decided to die a quick death. Apparently, I did not know there was an oil leak and was driving for quite a while with no oil. I burned out the engine. Unexpected expense. I had hoped that car would reach the 200,000 mile mark before I would begin looking for a nice, used car in my price range. When unexpected expenses come up, if you have no buffer you may end up jacking those plastic cards right back up. Been there—Done that! How depressing it was for me to have gotten so far in paying credit cards off, only to have the unexpected run them back up. Be careful to avoid this pitfall and I will see you at Principle number six, next month.

CHRISTMAS “OOH CHRISTMAS TREE”
I
come from a very strict church denominational background! It seems as if everything that could ever have fun attached to it was considered sinful or worldly! Yet, as I look back on it now, I have a greater appreciation for what our Leader was trying to accomplish, and that is, a Holy reverence for Christ! I have to admit, the rules that we were expected to follow helped us to develop an attitude of reverence for Christ that resulted in many manifestations of signs and miracles that
are not common in the church world today! Now, one of those rules concerned how we were to decorate our homes for the Christmas Season. And the biggest no-no was the setting up and decorating of one of the most traditional items found in a home during that time, and that is, the Christmas-Tree! This prohibition had to do with avoiding idolatrous practices. And the most popular verses of scripture used to support the idea of a “Christmas-
Tree” being a symbol of idolatry comes from a few verses found in the book of Jeremiah chapter 10 verses 1-5: “(1) Hear the word which the LORD speaks to you, O house of Israel. (2) Thus says the LORD: Do not learn the way of the Gentiles; do not be dismayed at the signs of heaven, for the Gentiles are dismayed at them. (3) For the customs of the peoples are futile; for one cuts a tree from the forest, the work of the hands of the workman, with the ax. (4) They decorate it with silver and gold; they fasten it with nails and hammers so that it will not topple. (5) They are upright, like a palm tree, and they cannot speak; they must be carried, because they cannot go by themselves.

Do not be afraid of them, for they cannot do evil, nor can they do any good.” At first glance, one might say, “Ah ha! This means that Christmas-Trees are a part of Pagan Celebrations!” And the person who sees it this way without considering the context in which these verses were written; would have taken it out of context. You would have to continue to read verses 9-11 in order to see the full context. With that, you would discover that God is making a distinction between Himself and the false god’s that some have dreamed up in their mind. They would take that image, cut down a tree nearly to the stump, carve the wood into the image, and decorate it with costly items and elaborated colors as a form of “worship to the false god’s image!” In fact, the use of a “Christmas-Tree” came many years after these verses, so the “Christmas-Tree” was not even in the writers mind at this time!
Now, a Totem Pole carved by Native Americans as seen below; is a great example of the prohibition in Jeremiah 10:1-5, and looks nothing like a Christmas-Tree.
Now, let us not forget, that the Tree is not present in our homes to be worshiped. For, the Christmas-Tree and its decorations can be used as symbols to help us remember certain aspects of the life of Jesus, the Savior of the world! In fact, in the very pages of the Bible itself, we see God using earthly symbols such as the various parts that make up a tree, to represent some aspect of the life of Jesus as well! For instance, we see God using the tree stump as a symbol of the coming Messiah in the book of Isaiah 11:2 (King James Version) where it states, “And there shall come forth a rod out of the stem of Jesse, and a Branch shall grow out of his roots”. Also, we see God using two sticks to represent His will to one day in the future unite both Israel & Judah back as one nation, as seen in Ezekiel 37:16 (New Living Translation) where it states, “Son of man, take a piece of wood and carve on it these words: This represents Judah and its allied tribes. Then take another piece and carve these words on it: This represents Ephraim and the northern tribes of https://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/3/37/ Totem_Plaza_Canada_2012.jpg
Israel.” Not to mention, the Rod of Aaron was placed as a permanent symbol of Israel inside the Ark of the Covenant in Numbers 17:7-8. Thus, we see God not having an issue with using items to represent some aspect of our Faith, but He does take issue with the items themselves becoming objects of worship! The reason is, the use of symbols can help us to remember things that are too important to forget. So, before I close, I want to leave you with some truths from scripture to consider, as you and your family set up your Christmas-Tree this Holiday Season. THE STAR: In Genesis: 14 we see God establishing the Sun, the Moon, and the Stars to be used as signs to mark his Festival Days and years. It was during the Festival Days that the people had a divine meeting with their God. When Jesus came on the scene, the world was participating in a meeting between humanity and Emanuel which means, “God is with us”! In Matthew 2:2 (New International Version) we see the wise man saying, “Where is the one who has been born king of the Jews? We saw his star when it rose and have come to worship him.”
THE LIGHTS: The represent the
illumination from the Holy Spirit that is needed to see the significance of the Child’s birth! Luke 2: (25) Now there was a man in Jerusalem called Simeon, who was righteous and devout. He was waiting for the consolation of Israel, and the Holy Spirit was on him. (26) It had been revealed to him by the Holy Spirit that he would not die before he had seen the Lord’s Messiah. (27) Moved by the Spirit, he went into the temple courts. When the parents brought in the child Jesus to do for him what the custom of the Law required, (28) Simeon took him in his arms and praised God, saying: (29) “Sovereign Lord, as you have promised, you may now dismiss[a] your servant in peace. (30) For my eyes have seen your salvation, (31) which you have prepared in the sight of all nations: (32) a light for revelation to the Gentiles, and the glory of your people Israel.” THE TREE: As spoken of earlier in this article, the term tree, stump, and branch were all symbols God used to represent the coming Messiah and Savior of the world. So, the tree itself represents the fulfillment of the promise. The tree
also is cut. This symbolizes two things. First, the Messiah would be born during a time when Israel herself seems to be cut off from God, his promises, and the world. Then, when the fullness of times came; a Jewish baby was born who would one day bring glory back to Israel, placing her back in her rightful place as head of the nations! Second, the tree being cut represents the life of the Messiah being cut from the earth; meaning that he would be murdered. However, this too was a part of God’s plan. For, the Messiah would not die for his own sins, but the sins of the world in order that eternal redemption could be offered to those who would believe! Time does not present itself to teach all of the symbols that can be found in the various colors that are usually used to decorate Christmas-Trees during this time, such as red (his blood), purple (his royalty), and blue (his humanity). So, the next time you go shopping to purchase items to decorate your Christmas-Tree; be sure to choose colors, decorations, and Bible verses that will clearly help you to tell the Christmas story! Corresponding Bible verses,
help to clearly tell the Christmas story! This way, we will be sure to celebrate Christmas for its true purpose, and that is to make all remember the very special gift that was given to the world, and that is, Jesus, the Savior of the World! “For to us a child is born, to us a son is given, and the government will be on his shoulders. And he will be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace” (Isaiah 9:6 NIV). Now I know, that everyone won’t have the ability to put up a ChristmasTree this Holiday Season. Yet, even if this is the case; we should never forget to communicate to our loved ones the importance of Jesus’ birth, and what God the Father accomplished thru Jesus’ death for us on a tree! “End Strong!” Minister Jucinta Jones
P
eople of God as we embark upon the final month of 2017 I would simply like to remind you that this is still the year of victory. Some of you may be glad to see this year come to a close, but as I mentioned in last month’s publication that no matter what challenges we have faced this year we are still standing. However, my assignment this month is to speak into the lives of those of you who are battling with the spirit of weariness. Many of you have tried to step out on things this year pertaining to your ministry, business or career goals, and because things haven’t gone as planned you have been feeling like a failure. The truth of the matter is
you’re far from a failure in spite of what your circumstances may look like. Allow me to encourage you to stop believing the lies of the enemy because God’s plan for your ministry, business and career is still in progress. It is because of
the plan of God, which cannot fail that you my friend can’t afford to give up now. Even in the midst of your weariness, and what feels like burnout, God is saying that you must end this year STRONG!
In order to end strong you must do the following: 1. Continue to delight yourself in the Lord. 2. Apply the word of God to your life daily. 3. Continue to write the vision. 4. Don’t allow your passion and dreams to die. 5. Understand that failure & quitting is not an option. 6. USE PRAISE AS YOUR WEAPON AGAINST THE ENEMY’S LIES! 7. Remember that 2017 is still your year of VICTORY in Jesus name!

As we embark on a new year it’s very important that we don’t take baggage with us in the new year. Many times we allow
ourselves to hold on to some things and people who doesn’t mean us any good. “Brethren, I count not myself to have apprehended: but this one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind, and reaching forth unto those things which are before, I press toward the mark for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus.” Philippians 3:1314 stop holding on to people that don’t mean you any good. Forgetting those things which are behind. You don’t have time to dwell on the past because God has something greater in store for you. I encounter so many people who says letting Go is hard, but if you put in the masters hand you won’t anything to worry about. We hold on to things that drain us, angers us, disappoints us. Let it go !!! Do not take your eye off the prize you must stay focused. Before we enter the new year we must eliminate everything that is holding us back from destiny. You don’t need to be connected to anyone who’s not trying to go FORWARD! You don’t need to be connected to anyone who is not destiny driven. push you, and inspire you. Dis connecting from people isn’t easy because there is going to be some people you have to let go that are very close to you. When you let go of the negative you will begin to gain some positive. What ever you may be delivered from and feel like your trying to go back just remind yourself I AM BIGGER THIS! You are bigger then anything that comes your way. Keep pressing to your prize. It may seem hard sometimes but keep pressing! It may get rough sometimes but keep pressing. Leave your past in 2017, leave depression in 2017, leave toxic people in 2017. When you learn to let go you begin to feel a peace come over you. Stop holding on to your past. Don’t walk into 2018 with un forgiveness in your heart. Forgiveness is not for the other person it’s for you. Forgive yourself enough to let go of the one who broke your heart. Forgive yourself enough to let go of negative people. Forgive yourself enough to let go of abuse. Do not
