Nothing sophisticated is required, even just a small tube drawn up at one end would suffice. For the more skilled, if you need ideas try here.

Higher Education Evening

Open Instrumental Lesson Week

Tuesday 4th February 7.00pm in the Dobson Theatre

During the week of 3th – 7th February, parents are warmly invited to come to the School and attend their child’s instrumental lesson.

This Information Evening is designed to help Lower Sixth parents understand current procedures for applications to universities.

This will be a good opportunity to see the lesson in action and discuss instrumental progress with the teacher.

More than 98% of our students leave us to go to university and we will begin our Higher Education Programme with our current Lower Sixth students this term.

Parents are asked to contact the instrumental teacher in advance if they would like to attend and to sign in at the Main Office on arrival. 2

KETA Transport Temporary Bus Passes

MEDICAL MATTERS

Pupils wishing to obtain a temporary bus pass to enable them to travel on a different route must arrange this through Mrs Hurst, the Data Manager, giving at least 48 hours notice. She can be emailed on svh@kes.hants.sch.uk

Having had a couple of reported cases in recent weeks we would be grateful if you would check your child’s hair regularly for head lice. Click this useful NHS link for information and advice or please do not hesitate to contact one of the nursing team here at school on 023 80 799213.

Temporary passes will only be available on buses where there is spare capacity.

If your son/daughter brings an inhaler into school please make sure it is named as, unfortunately nameless inhalers have to be disposed of, due to health and safety requirements. Again any problems, please contact the number above.

Higher Education Programme Our Higher Education programme for current Lower Sixth students began on 20th January and students will need to familiarise themselves with the e-publication that can be found here.

CLUBS AND SOCIETIES

All students are required to take part in this preparation even if they wish to defer an application to university either for a GAP year or even indefinitely.

Co-curricular activities form an integral part of life at King Edward’s and we are very proud of the amount of opportunities on offer.

The sessions provide an opportunity for training which will be of significance even after students leave the school.

We would like our students to participate in at least two activities. Click here to view the extensive Spring 2014 list of Clubs and Societies.
