King Edward VI School
January Bulletin
T
25 January, 2019 he term has got off to a brisk start with some excellent results in hockey and netball in spite of some wintery weather. Those in the Third Year have had the opportunity to learn more about the First World War with a whole day of lectures and activities while our Fifth and Upper Sixth students have been fully engaged with mock examinations.
The PTA have again been very generous and we are very grateful for grants for new equipment for the Ceramics Club, the new Rocketry Group, and the Green Team. They will also be supporting the First Year Camp and the Arts Festival. As you may be aware, every three years we conduct a survey of all parents, staff and students. We apologise for yet another survey but we always value feedback and hope that this will not prove to be too much of an imposition. The conclusions from this survey inform the revision of the School Development Plan and your views are very important as a part of this process. The answers that you give will be analysed by an independent company and are completely anonymous. The Head designate, Mr Parker, notes that it is hugely important to him that he has the opportunity to hear from as many parents as possible about their experience of the school – not only those things which you love about it, but equally any ideas for future development that you may have. Listening to your views will certainly be a priority for him when he arrives in Southampton. He will see the results of the survey and, as you have always done, would like to encourage you all to take the opportunity to give full and honest feedback. The results will be summarised and published to all parents later in the year after a presentation to the KES PTA. Please spare 10 minutes to complete the survey by going to: http://survey.gl-assessment.co.uk/s/CV1Y3/ and logging on using the password KESS25467 (which is case sensitive). The deadline for contributions is 15 February, 2019. With thanks in anticipation of your help.
