New Director of Sport – Mr D Kent (Dulwich) Cricket & tennis season limited by weather Rugby – improving season with new pitches at Wellington. Hockey season – girls and boys very strong (county champions). 3 girls teams at regionals U14, U16 & U18 and 2 boys – U14 and U16. • Netball – regional finals U16 and real potential with younger girls • Minor sports – Rhythmic Gym National champions, dance, sailing, fencing, basketball, etc. • Duke of Edinburgh record numbers with over 140 in the 4th year joining!
Opportunity Community and charity • Continued partnerships with a range of local schools – including a Forest Schools project with St Mark’s and our toy appeal (over £2k raised by the 1st years this term!) • Growth of our Legacy Foundation - over £400k in 2012-3 • £20,000 raised by students • 5 partnerships including St. Mark’s Junior school using Lovaton • Continued focus on Goedgedacht Trust in South Africa & Summer Camp (Young Carers) – note Dr Sinnett-Jones Kalahari run • Green Flag award and eco car

Key developments Teaching and Learning • Student tracking via iSAMS using value added data (MiDYIS, Yellis and Alis) • Enhanced focus on pupil learning, linked to 1:1, through work of Assistant Director of Studies (Learning and Curriculum Support), the Learning Circle, Lead Learners and Teaching & Learning Group Extended Project – • Embedding careers education expansion Morrisby tests for all 4th years, 2nd year tests for all and expanded contact in Lower School
Key developments Co-curriculum •Activities Day (Endeavour) 2014 – to become an expanded event •Expansion of use of the Lovaton Centre for academic, pastoral and INSET uses •Review of our sporting provision and staffing with appointment of new Director of Sport Enhance our cultural offer, particularly with new opportunities with an improved music, theatre, dance and art facilities.
Key developments Pastoral Care • Consolidate our restructured VI form pastoral model • Enhanced PSHE - focus on adolescent mental health via external provision - CAMHS, body image & safe use of internet including the use of 1:1, Supporting parents – living with teenagers • Medical office – Over 5000 visits/ year! • Enhanced e-communication
Key developments Charity and community • Increasing access via enhanced bursary provision through Legacy appeal • Expanding international links, e.g. VI form link with CCDS (USA), Prague, South Africa through the Goedgedacht trust, etc. • Building on our links with the wider community, deepening local primary school partnerships and developing new options such as prep schools links, particularly for sport and culture. • But recognise that there is a limit to what we could manage in this area.
Key development ICT 2013-4 • Enhanced use of portable devices (1:1) – the iPad for 1st and 3rd years from Sept. 2014 and 2nd and 5th years 2015. Whole school from 2016. • Why? – Improved ability to teach/learn in class/at home – Move from textbooks to apps. – Enhanced independent learning
Facilities Development 2013-5 • Wellington Hospitality Area – Car-parking, cricket square, new pitches and balcony • Fitness facilities at KES • Stroud School - dining hall and classrooms • Planning for expansion of Dobson Theatre and Art Department 2015
