KING GEORGE V SCHOOL
Welcome Every day students are taught the importance of being able to think creatively, to imagine and to be original. However, in school we are still limited to that of our curriculum such as the IGCSEs or IB. The Festival of Creativity celebrates such talents and abilities that KGV students are unable to show off in the academic environment, a true festival that opens a platform for students to openly share their personal ideas and thoughts through the arts. By doing so, the talents that are undermined will finally be acknowledged, celebrating it as one KGV community. It also encourages others to communicate, understand and experience the arts like never before. The arts is not only knowledge but freedom, the gap in between that allows anybody to express what they feel and think in any medium whether it be media, drama, visual or sound. It is what allows us to engage with one another, have fun and ultimately express our own messages.
Edward Mak Student Council
Gloria Jung Student Council
For me, what makes KGV such a memorable school is the diversity of the student body: we have so many talented students who are actively engaged in art, music, drama, film, photography and other artistic activities. At the same time, there is also so much untapped potential -- often students are simply too shy or afraid to explore their talents. This is what I find most meaningful about the Festival of Creativity; the Festival is not just a platform for students to showcase their amazing achievements in the arts, but also an opportunity for all students to try something new and engage with a range of creative activities. I thoroughly enjoyed my experiences in art, music and drama classes in middle school. The arts provides us with unique skills -- teamwork, creativity, communication -- that are valuable in any career. More importantly, the arts broaden our understanding of the world in ways that math and science sometimes cannot: knowledge helps us decode the world around us but it is creativity and imagination that help us go beyond the limits of our reality.

The Mobile Phone Show is a fast paced, fun filled exploration of the bizarre relationship we share with our phones and our subsequent disconnection with the real world. Incorporating chorus, dance and even a little bit of rap, The Mobile Phone Show is sure to entertain you so much, you won’t even think to check your phone.
