The Ocean And Its Creator - Rand Tadros
by Rand Tadros
I looked at the ocean with jealousy Because of how free it seemed to be boundless Jealous, jealous of love that I could not feel Jealous of freedom I could not find Insecurity creeped in closing me up Fear took over pushing people away fear of anyone finding the true me Maybe it isn’t enough, unaccepted Acting was the hobby I took on a daily basis So good at it So good at it to the extreme of changing the way I act based on who I am with Shifting and changing my mask continuously “Shift, change, act” singing in my head over and over Over and over “Shift, change, act” How? How does the ocean do it? It doesn’t change for anyone It is so confident So strong But me, I am weary Fearful, broken and hollow How? How does the ocean do it? It doesn’t allow the words said about it change it Then why do I? Why do I allow society to change me? Why does people’s opinion matter so much? The only opinion that matters is my creator’s He made me Shaped me after the desire of his heart I am made in his image That is how the ocean does it It only cares for the opinion of it’s maker Loved, wild and free That is what I see
As it’s waves rise crashing on the shore Moving so swiftly with confidence and freedom Confidence in the words its maker spoke of it Free to do all it was made to do That is how I will be Loved, wild and free Knowing what my maker says of me Not allowing the words of this world shape me But his love to surround me
