This course includes lectures, discussions, and opportunities such as field trips (recent ones have been to BMW Mini Factory, Wimbledon Tennis Club, Chelsea Football Club, Bloomberg London, Bank of England and Twickenham Rugby Club) and talks by guest speakers (Bank of England MPC members & Dragon’s Den winners).

FURTHER STUDY/CAREERS:

The course is suitable for many careers and degree courses including: setting up one’s own business; accountancy, banking and finance, law, economics, share/foreign exchange dealing and information technology.

COURSE CONTENT:

Topics Include: 1. Investigating different Enterprises 2. Entrepreneurship 3. Marketing 4. Market Research

ASSESSMENT: Year 1

Unit 1: 4 reports - internally assessed over the course of 2 terms.

Unit 2: A Marketing report - IT project for 3 hours under controlled conditions - externally verified

Year 2

Unit 3: A written examination on Personal and Business Finance

Unit 4: An externally set task
