THE 10-POINT KINGS ADVANTAGE
Kings offers the perfect transition from school at home to the University of Bristol. Our supportive, student-centred pathway will ensure you are fully prepared and equipped to succeed at this world-class university. Here are 10 reasons why.
1YR 1. Guaranteed Pathway to the University of Bristol The University of Bristol Pathway Programme has been specifically developed in conjunction with the University to provide a clear, direct and assured pathway to the University while also giving you the benefit of Kings’ renowned personal support..
2. Flexible pathway options You can choose either a one year Foundation or a traditional 2-year A-level programme. Both will provide a joint Conditional Offer Letter from the University of Bristol and Kings before your programme starts. The one-year option includes core and elective modules which you can combine in different ways to create main subject pathways.
4. Quality assured
5. Very small classes
The one-year Foundation is inspected by Pearson and assured as preparation for Higher Education study in the UK. It is also moderated by an independent Advisory Board of external examiners.
Classes are some of the smallest of any pre-university college. This ensures maximum teacher contact time and academic support: 4 – 10 per class (A-level) and 8 – 12 per class (Foundation).
3. One-year Pathway based on A-level The one-year Foundation is based on A-level syllabuses, assessed against A-levels and taught by A-level teachers — many of whom hold a PhD or equivalent.
6. Wide nationality mix
7. Dedicated academic enrichment
Last year, students from nearly 100 countries studied with us. This creates a supportive community where everyone is equal and where English is always the common language.
The Kings Enrichment Programme is offered to all academic students. It will both supplement your subject-specific learning with practical experience, and broaden your general skills and development in preparation for university.
8. Close interaction with The University of Bristol
9. Professional university guidance
Throughout the Pathway Programme you will have regular interaction with the University. This includes termly visits to the University of Bristol campus; the opportunity to attend selected lectures and to talk to University faculty and students; as well as visits from University staff to Kings.
While the Programme provides a guaranteed path to the University of Bristol, Kings’ dedicated university counsellors are also available to you. They can help with subject choices or can provide the reassurance of other university options if you don’t meet the Bristol entry requirements.
10. Individual student support At Kings, we are experts in the careful management our students’ transition from school at home to university in the UK. All of our students benefit from regular progress testing and analysis, as well as dedicated care and support teams to ensure personal well-being.
