Our highly structured and outcome-driven Diploma of English has been renamed the Diploma of Intensive English and offers clear, goal driven study plans for our long-term students. Regular 6-week testing and tutorials, the opportunity to combine different study areas and a free official exam within the price are some of the key advantages of this programme.

The Intensive Course 24+ weeks price has been removed from the price list as all students who book an Intensive Course of 24+ weeks will be placed in the Diploma of Intensive English.

Our wide ranging “Special Interest Groups” applicable to our Intensive Courses have been restructured and we will have guaranteed subjects in all schools in the areas of Professional Success, Exam and University Success, and Fluency and Experience. Full details will come with brochure/fact sheets in summer 2018.

English Plus Courses • English Plus Art and Design (Oxford and London) Our popular Art and Design courses in Oxford and London will now be supplemented with a guaranteed enrichment opportunity 3 afternoons per week at Kings Brighton from 2019.

• English Plus Marketing and Digital Media (Brighton) The syllabus of this innovative and creative subject area has been refocused to include Marketing rather than General Business Studies with a new syllabus and course duration of 2-12 weeks. Students will cover contemporary topics such as social media marketing; digital strategy; new technologies; communication systems; branding and advertising; and business and marketing terminology.

• English Plus Business and Finance (London) Our most popular English Plus Course will be running this year in London only to ensure students benefit most from the huge range of financial institutions and organisations we have links with in London.

• English Plus Business and Leadership (Boston) One of our newest English Plus subject areas, this was previously named “English Plus Entrepreneurship” – a fascinating syllabus teaching students all about general business concepts and leadership within a global context. The course includes lectures from local entrepreneurs and visits to local companies and universities.

• English Plus International Business (NEW for 2019 in Bournemouth) An exciting new option available in Bournemouth allowing students to cover International Business topics such as leadership, finance, advertising and competition. Students will develop the skills essential for communicating successfully within the international context of the modern English-speaking world of business, through activities such as giving presentations and taking part in mock negotiations.

Internship Placement – NEW for 2019. For students who take our English Plus International Business course, we are able to offer a new internship placement scheme where we will find suitable placement of between 4-24 weeks, help students prepare their CV’s, and undertake practice interviews. At present this is available for European students only, but we are investigating the validity of Tier 5 Youth Mobility Visa holders – further details will follow.

• English Plus Law (London) Our popular English Plus Law course has been maintained at Kings London for 2019.

This course is ideal for students who would like to improve their English skills for use in a variety of legal contexts. It combines General English with specialist law-related topics, and includes a range of exciting trips and excursions to well-known legal institutions across the capital including the Supreme Court, Houses of Parliament, and Old Bailey.

Exam Preparation Courses •

We will now have added flexibility and start dates in our IELTS Preparation Courses with weekly start dates and a minimum course duration of 2 weeks in London, Brighton and Bournemouth. In Oxford (our largest IELTS preparation centre and the designated IELTS test centre for the Oxford region) we will continue with dedicated 6 weekly start dates, but will take a flexible approach to acceptance and aim to accommodate students outside of these set dates wherever possible. The same applies for the Intensive IELTS Preparation Course in Oxford.

Cambridge Preparation Courses: we will have new 4 and 8-week summer Cambridge FCE and CAE Courses in our fantastic Los Angeles school for 2019 – the perfect location to spend your summer preparing your exam. Short summer Cambridge Exam Preparation courses have also been maintained for 2019 in London, and two additional start dates were added in Bournemouth.

Accommodation •

Oxford: we have three new student houses which will all be available year-round from January 2019 onwards. All three properties are finished to a high standard and located in desirable areas of Oxford with easy access to the school and city

centre. All student houses are self-catering, and we have both en-suite and shared bathroom options available, for students aged 18+.

Our premium student residence Wavy Gate will be available for Kings English students as a Summer Residence from 2019 (16 June – 1 September 2019) – offering all single, en-suite rooms with self-catering facilities Brighton: New student houses for 2019 - after a successful first full year at Kings Brighton, we have expanded our year-round accommodation options to include new student houses. These are newly renovated for Kings students, and offer single, self-catering rooms with shared and en suite bathroom options for students aged 18+. The properties are again located within easy access to the school, city centre, and transport links.
