VACATION EXTRA SUMMER CENTRE 2016

London, UK What better location for older teenagers to enjoy a fantastic summer than London, one of the world’s great cities. Our London Summer Centre is based at Kentwood College in Beckenham and is just a short walk from Kings London. Beckenham is a safe, attractive and green suburb in southeast London just 20 minutes by train into Central London.

Vacation Extra

15 hours of English lessons per week

The Vacation Extra course is aimed at teenage learners and combines 15 hours of English each week with daytime activities, excursions and some evening activities.

 Key information Course length: 2 – 11 weeks Start dates: 12,19, 26 June; 3, 10, 17, 24, 31 July; 7, 14 August The standard arrival/departure day is Sunday.

Day-time sports and activities programme (on or off-site). All transport costs are included. Attendance is compulsory. At least 4 compulsory evening activities per week (at Kentwood or at Kings London) One full-day excursion per week with an entrance fee (on Saturday) Two half-day excursions per week to Central London Placement test Internet access End-of-course certificate

Accommodation (not included in the price) Homestay  S tandard twin (singles available on request)  H ost families are a short walk or bus ride from the Summer Centre. Students make their own way there.  A ll families are carefully selected and inspected by the Kings Accommodation Manager.  S tudents aged under 16 are not given a house key. Off-site student residence (Crystal Palace) Note: this option is only available to groups.  A vailable from 26 June – 7 August  F ully furnished single and twin rooms  1 shower room between two bedrooms  S tudent common room, CCTV and 24-hour reception staff

 B edding and towels supplied and changed weekly, daily room cleaning  Wifi internet access in all bedrooms  Flat-screen television in all rooms  Superb on-site sports facilities including swimming pools, gyms, squash courts and climbing wall (at additional cost)  15 minutes’ bus-ride to Summer Centre  20 minutes’ train-ride to Central London  Minimum age: 14 (students must be accompanied by a group leader)

Evening Curfew Please note that there are curfews in place for all students: Students aged under 16 must return to their host family or residence by 22.30 every evening. Students aged 16 – 17 must return to their host family or residence by 23.30 every evening.

Meal Plan (all accommodation options) Full-board meals. Breakfast, packed lunch and dinner included every day. We can cater for vegetarian and other dietary requirements on special request.
