O ca icQ d o n s Mrs. and Mr. Pusack Priscilla and Bill, you have accomplished something that is rare in the workplace today. Between the two of you, you have dedicated 82 years of service to Thomas, LHT, KLHT and King. During this time you were married and had two children, Tim and Anna, who are both graduates of the school. Your contributions to the school are specific to your individual talents.

Priscilla,

you are a visionary. Long before people were talking about our environment you were there teaching our students, taking them into the woods, exploring nature and laying the groundwork for creating future caretakers of the earth. Your love and passion for science has inspired many of our graduates to pursue degrees and professions in the field. Your 7-Layer Magic Bars are treasures that your advisees have enjoyed for 45 years. Most of all, your steady support of your students, your integrity and your scholarship have enhanced the lives of all who have been in your presence during your tenure. We thank you for this.

D i l l , you have worn many hats during your tenure at LHT, KLHT, and King. You have taught many math classes, chaired the Technology department, introduced us to computers, filmed our games, driven the van on countless occasions, coached the golf team, and supported service learning. You are the one we can always count on to get our attention at a fire drill or an all school event. We will remember your hats, your putting Greens in the hall and of course, your voice. Most of all, we thank you for your patience as a teacher, your generosity, your good humor, your commitment and your dedication to all of your students and to the school.

-Cathy Mishkin

Mrs. Kweskin The Class of 2016 would like to dedicate our yearbook to Mrs. Helen Kweskin, a long-standing member of the King community. Arriving in 1973, Mrs. Kweskin has played a variety of roles in her years at King: Head of Upper School, Dean of Faculty, field hockey coach, advisor to the Rwanda Service Club, and English Department Chair, to name a few. To each of these roles, she has brought unmitigated enthusiasm, unwavering integrity, and abundant knowledge. The one role she has played through all of these years is that of an English teacher who shared her passion for literature with her students and challenged them to be the best readers, thinkers, and writers they could be. Our school is a better place because of your years of service. For your 43 years of dedication to the King community, we enthusiastically commend you and humbly thank you.

-Tricia Manganello

Head of School

Dear King Community, It is a pleasure for me to write this brief intro for the 15-16 King yearbook. I am not sure if this is the 150th yearbook produced by our school, but I am quite sure that this class represents the 150th class who has graduated from King and our predecessor schools. This has been a year of celebration for our school, a year in which we have found a myriad of ways to honor the history of this great institution and to have highlight meaningful connections between our past and our present. We have celebrated traditions, culture, programs, and people as the bedrock of this school. They will serve as our foundation moving forward. This yearbook, a celebration of this graduating class and this year, marks a most appropriate close to this 150th year. Our senior class, the class of 2016, could not have represented our school better, and we could not be more proud of them. This senior class represents the best of our school. They have represented the school with elegance and dignity. They are a highly accomplished class academically heading off to a list of fine colleges and universities that will serve them well. We are all sure that this group of graduates will continue to shine and make our school proud, and we look forward to hearing about their continued success.

The themes were 'hello' day, smile day and compliment day for example. Advisees also did a random act of kindness or created something meaningful for their advisors. These themes were connected to the virtues especially kindness. I do think that it made a difference in making students more conscious about their behavior towards others." -Kim Villard (8th grade)

When the moment came to give all of our spirit and hard work to the entire school, it was very nerve wracking, but it taught us not to be afraid and to persevere through every challenge." -Jamie Munno (6th grade)

"The King Middle School play was called Triple Trouble. It wJIabout three children who wâ‚Źlj|HBBpbrted back into Shakespearean times. There, they meet Shakespeare and his band of actors who allow the three children to take part in a play for Queen Elizabeth I. In Triple Trouble I was cast as WiUfam Shakespeare who was a humble a p l wise man but could demonstrate his incredible talent with the flick of his wrist. As Shakespeare encounters the Queen, he is told to abandon his idea of a play and perform a completely new one. One of the children quickly remembers yplay Shakespeare has not yet written, Macbeth, and the Queen demands that he present it before the Royal Court. In We Globe Theatre, Shakespeare learns the true identity of the children and agrees to help them return to the present. Triple Trouble truly was a phenomenally written play by Mark Silence." - Claire Munting (7th grade)

With little design parameters, the creative opportunities were endless. Whether a rocket flew sideways into a car, or straight up into the sky, the launch was a fantastic experience that the class will never forget." - Catherine King (8th grade)

The groups that performed included the 6th Grade Choir, the Boys Concert Choir, and the Girls Concert Choirs. Song styles ranged from traditional Hymn's to Let it Co. New this year was combining both Girls Choirs for numerous pieces in the concert. Ms. Gregory played the piano, and the students all sang very well. Soloists on the concert included Jonah Savitz, and Sydney Goldstein." - Mr. Miller (Choir teacher)

As usual, the 8th graders embodied the King virtue of perseverance, and worked together to take home the prize. A few weeks later, the 8th graders celebrated their efforts with a Carden Catering party, and a dress down." -Samantha De Chiara and Catherine King (8th grade)

"The theme of the dance was winter. There was a ping pong table where kids could battle it out against each other, and there was also an air Jiockey table! If you weren't into ping pong or air hockey, there was the entire Commons area to just dance and listen to music. I enjoyed dancing with my friends anÂŽplaying ping pong. I won a couple of ping pong games, but when I didn't, I stiUj had so much fun! My favorite part of the dance was the photo booth! King Fun Fact. King alumnus, Carter Burwell (Class of 73) was nominated for an Academy Awards this year for his original musical score for the film "Carol."

POLL DLQU "Viola was hands down my favorite character I have ever played and dressing up like a boy was definitely a one of a kind experience. This cast was particularly very close, and we looked forward to going to rehearsal everyday because we had so much fun together. We learned so much from Mr Silence! I was grateful to have this amazing experience as my final play at King." -Molly Eagleton '16

"The best part of Sweeney Todd was seeing the final results. We spent three months learning our lines and studying our music, and seeing the final payoff was just so exhilarating! I also felt that Sweeney Todd brought me closer with people I would never think I would be friends with! The bond our cast had was one of a kind, and it is something that can't be replaced. As the seniors move off to college, they will be missed, but they left behind an irreplaceable legacy." -Jordan Kulick '19

"SPain was unquestionably one of the most eye-opening experiences for me at King. Not only was I able to learn so much about the history of the country itself, but I was also literally immersed in the social life of a Spanish family. What got you interested in EDM? "I was listening to a song in 7th grade, Bashhead by Bassnectar, and I just got hooked on this music and have been ever since." What made you decide to do make a King talk about it? "I have been thinking about it since King Talks were first introduced. You've showed me what hard work really means, how to stay true to yourself, and that at the end of the day what really matters, are the people that have been there by your side all along. Bradley: Some may say we are a little too close, but I'd say we're pretty perfect. There is no one else in this world that has my back like you do. You're more than a brother to me, you're my best friend. I am so proud of everything you have accomplished, and can't wait to show you what I'm capable of. NHW : You always tell me that "everything happens for a reason." I know, in a few years, when I look back on this I will believe every word of that statement. BM, LW, SW, AD, DZ: You guys have helped me through some of the toughest times in my life, and been there for some of the best. I love all of you, and am so lucky to have friends like you in my life. Em: Thanks for being the sister I never had, but always wanted. I'm sure you'll miss our crazy car rides just as much as I will, BUT I know you are going to do just fine w ithout me :) Enjoy every moment like it's your last, senior year w ill be over before you know it. Good luck weeee, ily GG: My (20-25 mg) daily freak out buddy, lime lover, thunder buddy, foodie, eskimo, (loud) music loving, 12 grade QB and my country lovin, ice-tea, tapas, mani, phall-skimo, "those type of moods", car "borrowing" & 3 year QB. I'll miss the loud car rides, late nights at GD, making a "must know" book, trying new restaurants, movie nights, W M runs, and realizing we are all the same person (more or less). Note: The system w ill always be backwards, but accept it because it brought us together in the end. I love you losers more than you know. CSGB: Thanks for teaching me the "king way" (including the lingo), introducing me to what "real" music is, and being the greatest friends. I'll miss each and every one of you. Class of 2016: It has been an honor getting to know all of you over the past three years. I wish you all the best of luck next year and in the future.

AGR Mom/ Dad: Mom, thanks for always listening to me and giving me great advice (it is like you should be a high school counselor or something lol). Dad, thanks for funding my athletic gear and making me a better athlete and person. I will miss watching Ghost Adventures with you next year. Love you guys! Dear Class of 2016, Congratulations! You are our "1 50th" graduating class, and we could not be more proud of all that you have accomplished during your time at King. Yours is a class of academicians, artists, performers, athletes, chess players, mathletes, future UN members, engineers, bloggers, app developers, future domestic and global leaders. I could go on and on. But what seems most important to me about your class is the legacy you are leaving. Specifically, your senior class has helped shape very important aspects of King. Our leadership programs - including the Student Council's role and the position of the Prefects in our community - have been clarified and strengthened because of your class. You have served on Task Forces alongside board members. You have participated in the finalization of our current Virtues and made recommendations for raising the awareness of our Honor Code; you have added Homecoming competitions and Spirit Week activities; and you have served actively as King Ambassadors with service organizations throughout Fairfield and Westchester counties. You have also been good friends to each other, supporting each other throughout both heartbreak and success. You may have even solved our School's parking issues! And you graduate now prepared to seize the opportunities that will come your way at the finest colleges and universities in the country. So what is left to say? I can think of a few things: We care about you, and we will always be here for you - probably for another 150 years. Your teachers in particular will be cheering for you and waiting for you to come back at Homecoming, and beyond, to share your news. One last point: please thank your teachers for all they have done to guide your personal journeys at King - journeys that began in Pre-Kindergarten for some of you. Okay, one more point. Dig deep always; always find a reason. Be well,

Marnie Sadlowsky
