Service Learning/Community Service Service Learning Mission Service Learning at King is a teaching and learning strategy that integrates meaningful community service with instruction and reflection, enriching the learning experience, promoting civic responsibility, and strengthening community. At King, we cultivate reciprocal service and a learning partnership among our students' families, Faculty, Staff, and the surrounding community. A commitment to excellence invigorates a comprehensive program that affirms the belief that all students can learn and become responsible, productive members of the King community.

Community Service Mission

A principle tenet of the King Mission is to develop civic-minded student leaders with a commitment to others. We champion the development of each individual’s talents, character, and self-confidence by offering our students the opportunity to help others through service-learning and active service. The Community Service Program is an integral part of a values-based curriculum at King and reinforces the School’s belief that service to others is central to educational excellence. The program requires students to give of their time and talents to help others. Please contact Lise Leist, Dean of Community Affairs, at (203) 322-3496, Ext. 357, or lleist@klht.org for more information.
