PupilsmakegoodprogressandtheirresultsatGCSEandA-levelexaminationsareabovethenational average.Pupilsaretypicallysuccessfulinsecuringplacesattheirchosenuniversitiesorcolleges.

26.PupilswhohaveSENDmakegoodprogressfromtheirstartingpointsandachieveinlinewiththeir peersintheirGCSEandA-levelexaminations.Leadersquicklyidentifywhenpupilswillbenefitfrom additionalsupportordifferentstrategies,suchasrecordingworkdigitallyorbeingprovidedwith textinalargerfont.Amemberofstafffromeachsubjectdepartmentisresponsiblefor disseminatinginformationaboutpupilswhohaveSEND.Thismeansthatallstaffareprovidedwith helpfulandfocusedstrategiestomeetpupils’individualneeds.

27.Theschooloffersabroadandstimulatingrangeofextra-curricularactivitiesforpupils.Pupilsacquire confidenceinpublicspeakingthroughdebatingandphilosophyclubs.The‘chemistryformedics’ clubincreasessixth-formpupils’understandingandknowledgeabouttopicssuchasx-raysand influenza.Inthe’boxercise’club,pupilsaretaughtboxingskillssuchassparring.Thewell-planned

extra-curricularprogrammeenhancespupils’learningandprovideseffectiveopportunitiesto developskillsandunderstanding.
