WELCOME TO THE 2008 NATIONAL ARTS FESTIVAL FRINGE! Unlike the Main Programme events, which are selected by the Festival Committee, the Fringe is open to all applicants, without pre-selection. Some of the most exciting artistic developments and dynamic talents in South Africa were first spotted on the Fringe in Grahamstown. Be adventurous and don’t miss an opportunity to expereience the thrill of something new! Have fun and enjoy the Fringe experience! This publication provides an overview of the various productions and exhibitions that will be presented on the 2008 Fringe programme. BOOKING PROCEDURES

Booking opens at Computicket nationwide on Monday 19 May 2008 COMPUTICKET • Bookings can be made at any Computicket or Shoprite Checkers outlet nationwide • Credit Card bookings can be made through the Call Centre [011 340 8000 / 083 915 8000] or through the Computicket website www.computicket.co.za • Credit Card bookings can be collected at any Computicket outlet or in Grahamstown at either the Monument or Village Green Box Offices at the Computicket Pick-Up Stations. You will be required to produce the credit card that you used to book your tickets. Please note that tickets cannot be collected at performance venues. FESTIVAL BOX OFFICE 1. Complete the enclosed booking form and either fax it to 046 622 3082 or post it to P O Box 304, Grahamstown 6140 , together with your: • Cheque [made out to National Arts Festival Grahamstown] or • Deposit slip [banking details are on the reverse of the Booking Form] or • Completed Credit Card authorisation details [See reverse of the Booking Form] 2. Bookings will be made on your behalf and you will be issued with a Festival Reference Number, which you will require for collection of your tickets. 3. Tickets can be collected on your arrival in Grahamstown from the Monument Box Office from 24 June onwards. Please bring your Festival Reference Number AND a valid form of identification. 4. You will be contacted by the Box Office staff should there be any bookings which we are unable to process due to sold out shows, cancellations etc. Where required, refunds will be issued.

FESTIVAL PROGRAMME The Festival Programme contains all information on both Main and Fringe performances and events, and includes a daily diary, colour-coded venue map, listings for restaurants and food outlets, church services, etc. This is a must for all Festivalgoers and is available at the discounted price of R30 if ordered through this Booking Kit (normal price R40).

Children’s Arts Festival Parents, staying sane this festival has never been easier thanks to the Children’s Arts Festival! The Children’s Arts Festival is a fantastic creative arts programme for children. It helps children realize their creativity and releases their abilities in creative and wonderful ways. It is a fully-supervised programme for young festinos (aged 4-13) and is hosted in the safe environment of St. Andrew’s Preparatory School. The daily programme includes a carefully chosen National Arts Festival production and arts-related workshops with activities such as music, dance and drama, and handcraft art. Lisa Nettelton Molo Mimi works with a technique called “free stitch” creating unique canvases.
