New Eco-Friendly Stores Open
Megan King (23) and Katy Burlace are the founders of Scrapless and ReMake Fashion, forward thinking and eco friendly stores opening in September in Burgess Hill.
Megan setup Scrapless as a community interest company which provides a resource for refilling foodstuffs and living essentials. She said: “I want to bring sustainable shopping out of Brighton and big cities to Sussex towns like Burgess Hill, so that we can all support the planet and reduce our collective carbon footprint.” Scrapless will provide a plastic-free shopping experience, and offer customers a chance to purchase dried foods, household essentials, fresh fruit, veg and bread, sweets and more.

Katy, a designer in the fashion industry for 20 years, is passionate about making a change on how we view, buy and wear clothes. ReMake will host sustainable
fashions with new, preloved and upcycled womens clothing. Katy said: “I want to help our community move away from fast fashion and think more carefully about where our clothes come from, what impact they have on the environment, and how great it is to give life back into preloved clothes.”
Scrapless and ReMake fashion are opening together in Burgess Hill in the Martlets. The eco-duo are taking over the former William Hill Interiors unit which is opposite the old Lidl and next to New Look and Pulse. A lovely spot which the pair hope to bring life back to and help to revive the high street after this pandemic. Megan said: “Scrapless will build a community of likeminded individuals in the area. This isn’t intended to just be a business making more, we really believe in what we’re doing and how it will make an impact in Mid Sussex. That is also why we are supporting local producers with the products we stock.”
