CONNECTING THE TOWN
You’ll be excited to hear that for the first time, Horsham residents and businesses can get broadband connection speeds of up to one Gigabit (1000Mbps), which is among the fastest connection speeds available in the UK today. On page 12 there are details of Hey!Broadband launching its full fibre broadband services in the second week of February, 2020.

Up until now, Horsham residents could only get broadband service over hybrid fibre-and-copper - based broadband, which meant slower speeds and dropped connections - especially during peak times. Full fibre, on the other hand, connects fibre from the exchange directly into homes and offices - and this makes a massive difference in terms of speed and reliability. Once you have your fast broadband you then need to think about how to keep your children safe online. On page 14 you can find out about the Safer Internet Day started on 11th February. West Sussex County Council’s Community Safety and Wellbeing Staying Safe Online team are delivering the ‘digital online safety sessions’ for parents and carers in schools across the county throughout February and March - the nearest session is on 12th March at Silver Jubilee School. Faster broadband at twenty-two times faster than the average broadband speed in the U.K. should help make Horsham a more attractive place for both businesses and residents which is good news for everyone.
