Discovering Hub - Lecture Bock A is the Discovering Hub which consist of 2 Lecture theatres on two floor levels, exhibition area and student hotdesks area. It is located in the north side at the corner of the site. It welcomes students from the QUT main campus. It becomes a main circulation to the other hubs.

Hertiage Community along the sitting stiar
Bock C is the testing hub - workshop for students to make the products. The new buildings imitate the form and the design features of heritage buildings, like wooden canopy frame, vertical fins outside toilet, to create a sense of place. The central plaza between new and old buildings create an unique experience for students.

Developing Hub is a building consisting of studio, computer labs, staff office for students, public and staffs. Although it is located at the edge of site, it is the important building where most students gather and develop the ideas. Different types of gathering space are provided.

Section A
The continuous grand staircase, connecting the communal garden and sky garden, provide the function of continuous vertical circulation and gathering space for students to share and relax. The provision of skylight on top of the grand staircase provide sufficient sunlight to the communal space which reduce the artificial light use and the void in the center of building create stack effects. On the landing of stair, there are some space for students to sit. It is an open but intimate area for everyone. Section B

A C: Connection of movable vertical Fins with glazing systems: Primarily useful for east and west exposures to improve insulation value of glass in winter months by acting as a windbreak and used in hot and shiny cimate by the high shading efficiencies
A: The continuous horizontal fins are mainly used towards north and northwest to block direct sunlight at noon and in the afternoon
B: Key advantages of perforated aluminium mesh, using in the studio: - high resistance to environmental elements - lightweight - Increase acoustic performance - see-through panel to provide appropriate level of privacy - sun-shading to filter excess light - enhance natural ventilation
